If a top fuel or funny car had the power to overcome aerodynamic drag, power required to overcone aerodynamic drag increases at the square of speed ( f= 1/2 ro V^2 CdA ), then we could compute the theoretical top speed. Seeing as promods can do 220 in the 1/4, it might be within reason to lightly prep the runway just so nobody gets hurt
@raipanda1333 жыл бұрын
To be fair, no one brings pro mods to a half mile, so there’s no point in prepping the surface. No one else has that kind of traction issue because half mile cars aren’t running a full slick. He’s not doing a burn out, he’s on concrete, he knows what he’s doing is different, but risky. A good example of a “pro mod” style car that hooks in the half mile is that 61 Skylark, but his car is built for this stuff.
@CowBoyPyro3 жыл бұрын

@@FREE_WILL_DEFENDER depending on event/venue, they don’t allow burn outs at half mile, especially not what a pro mod would need.
@ssoffshore51113 жыл бұрын
@@raipanda133 Maybe not that kind of traction issue, but the high power RWD cars certainly struggle with it! Just look at the TT Vipers putting up similar numbers. I know they've gone significantly faster than this, but most the magic is in the Motec TC allowing them to push to the limits of traction. They could likely run with, or even faster than the AWD lambos and GTRs in the 1/2 mile if they had the traction. I know many of them are making 3000+ rwhp, but they can't run nearly that much due to traction issues.
