Matt dislikes hand signals but I noticed he was all over the trail on turns and straights. At one point they were two abreast! I’m a good enough rider to ride one handed and Matt is a much better rider than me so I think he can handle signals. Giving signals gets riders to focus right and be safe. One more thing, if you want to race with your buddies, which I love to do; race at night. Almost zero traffic and when there is traffic you can see the headlights coming. Be safe all!
@daytonmacmillannАй бұрын
why do you need someone else to let you know if there are more riders behind them? Ride every corner like someone is coming, that makes sure you are on the ball and you get to keep your hands in the brake!

I disagree I personally like it when people let me know how many behind. Sometimes the leader is fairly far a head of the rest. I like knowing when I can get on it again. The trails aren't like highways they aren't wide enough nor are they a one way trail system like some are. I am always happy when someone let's me know how many and if they are the last one. No need for 2 hands on the bars at that point as your usual only doing 30 or so. Your not ripping at 80 still etc.

I actually started following Matt years ago, cause I have been trail riding Muskoka my entire life, not realizing Matt's channel was 99% mountain riding out west. I have come to enjoy watching Matt's incredible photo/video work. So this was a complete surprise to see a trail type video from my backyard area where i ride. Love the plywood plow idea! Most years we have so many melt downs we typically got lots of days to radar run on fast ice conditions, but we used to always need to plow a track back when we had normal winters. Super cool video work with that 360 cam, i really need to step up my videos with one! The lake racing/GPS running reminds me of my entire childhood hanging out on Lake of Bays with the guys around Dwight. Super cool to see this video Matt, love it! BTW which Kenny was that on the Mach Z? I really love my Mach, still bone stock with just my clutching and works well. Mine definitely has more Turbo flutter sound on my videos than your 850r turbo makes. Wondering if his Mach Z is all stock? More and more guys are running the McX 210hp piggyback kit which seems to work well. Cheers brother!

Growing up riding the Washington cascades, we were riding trails, to play areas, but allot of it was trails, because, into in the 80's, the closest thing to a mountain sled, was the phazer. Now I rode that 84 phazer into the crater of St. Helens, all kinds of hillside logged off play areas, but didn't really get to access new terrain, till my 1998 mountain SRX. So even though I grew up riding in the mountains, my childhood was allot of trail riding.

I still go out for a trail ride hear, and there. Mostly for my 77yr mom, though she doesn't like the stand up style of newer mountain sleds. Before my dad passed, their last sleds were 04 yamaha mountain vipers. My old spare sled, is a timbersled tunnel, front and rear suspension, modified M7 162x2.6 powerclaw, with low wrp seat, and that feels tall to her, so she absolutely hates my axys! I just soften up the rear track shock, and max psi the ski shocks, so it's stable and comfortable, but she'd still rather have her old yamaha back. 😂

Lol even rode through some corners with one hand at speed. I'm not bashing you at all lol just pointing it out that hand signals are the least of most people's worries. I'd be more upset coming across 2 oncoming sleds in both lanes ;) I always tell people, hand signals are a courtesy. Don't feel like you need to do it. If you don't feel comfortable don't. Something's guys get by me so quick I don't bother because I'm in a corner or it's a tight trail. My wife never gives hand signals. And that's ok. My 13 Pro R 800 GPS top speed is 105mph.
