SKIDOO REV MXZ 550f | EP11 | Torquing Clutches and First Start

Today on Episode 11 of PROJECT RUFF REV, we torque both clutches and have a "FIRST START" of the 2005 Skidoo 550f REV.

What size socket do you use for the large nut on the primary?

Can you do the video removing the exhaust wanting to put a can on but can't get the old muffler off

Hey Mike, The only things that hold the muffler on are the springs and high heat silicone between the muffler and exhaust pipe flange.

Hey Scott, Where are you getting your information? My 2005 MXZ Skidoo Service shop manual specifically states: Hold the drive clutch with the drive pulley holder (P/N 529 027 600) then torque bolt to 90 N•m (66 lbf•ft). Install drive belt and belt guard. Raise and block the rear of the vehicle and support it with a mechanical stand. Accelerate the vehicle at low speed (maximum 30 km/h (20 MPH)) and apply the brake, repeat 5 times. Retorque bolt to 95 N•m (70 lbf•ft). 🤷🏼‍♂ Cheers 🤙🏼

Belt looks loose

Hey Alan, It’s not, It set as tight as it can be without the track creeping. I found out you can’t set these like a standard skidoo TRA clutch where you set the deflection with the bottom of the belt cog even with the edge of the secondary. Take Care

@@SometimeIsNow I would try and find a Is longer belt where it's at now it's like starting out in 2nd Gear Let's hope it's a good year for snow looking forward in the U P this year✌️

@@alancall5113 I agree with you that the belt sits alittle low in the secondary. I’ll have to see how it feels for low end once I get it on the snow. To be honest my wife’s not going to notice it. She just likes to get out and ride to get lunch somewhere and then back to the truck. Now… If I end up riding this sled and she’s on my T-cat then I’ll have to look at it much closer. 😂🤣 We’ve been watching the snow depths up in the UP. They’re starting to ride already. Think Snow ❄❄
