Thank you so much! I am looking for fastest way to return to Oslo after skiing in Hafjell, as I will be flying from Oslo on the same day. So based on your video it seems I could take taxi from my hotel in Halfjell to the nearest station and get to Oslo by train. Sounds fantastic. I hope I can make it to Oslo by 10am the latest.

You would have to check the train schedule. Sometimes the train does not run south on certain days. Worst case scenario you could take an early bus.

8:00 We call those «skogsløyper» (forest tracks). They’re really fun! There are also some tracks that goes through denser forests and some of these can be very difficult, so tread with care. Crashed into wayy too many trees when I was a kid

Yes my kids loved those at Trysil this year.

Great video, is it walking distance from Scandic Hafjell to the lifts? With a 5 year old😬😂

It was about a 10 to 15 minute walk for us depending on how fast we were moving. So it is definitely doable but after a long day of skiing, it might be a slower walk. The bus does run every 30 minutes so if you time it well then that is your better option.

Looks awesome! I can highly recommend Åre, Sweden for your next trip. Biggest resort in all of Scandinavia; an actual town like in the alps. Close to Trondheim so one can fly there and go by train or fly to Östersund, Sweden and take a taxi/bus.

Aw man we already book Trysil! Have you been there?

Nice trip. Did you look at other options as well? Hafjell is probably the largest ski resort along with Trysil. Geilo and Hemsedal are probably good seconds. In the west I'd say Voss is the largest destination with two resorts. Think ski resorts close to Stavanger is Røldal and Sirdal, but they are pretty small in comparison.

We did but not extensively. We saw this one and loved the family areas with multiple options. We hope to make a day trip to Sirdal.

Yeah ... I spent 11 days up in the mountains there when I was in the Army back in 1992, we had to carry everything we needed for that time, food and all .. felt like hell at the time, but when thinking back... it was nice. Learned alot ... it was ofcourse winter back then too. That last downhill was interesting ... kinda like the hills at Hafjell but still I went down there attatched to the sled that we had our tent in and other stuff, kinda getting the speed up with that, don't think nobody actually made it down there without a trip out in the woods first.

Yes I bet it had changed a bit over the years. It was a nice area and fun for all of us. 😊 Thanks for continuing to watch!

You say that you can access Hafjell via plane, train and bus? Where is the airport? Because Lillehammer doesn't have an airport. And Gardermoen is looooooong away. So you can't have meant it, it's too far away to walk. 🤣😂🤣
