Summer McIntosh, a prodigy who redefined swimming with her extraordinary feats. Unlike her peers who trained intensively from a young age, McIntosh's diverse background in sports and her unconventional approach to training set her apart. Her story is not just about breaking two world records by the age of 16; it's about challenging the norms of competitive swimming and demonstrating the power of versatility, resilience, and sheer will.

As an Aussie, i have to say we have a real love/hate relationship with the USA and Canadian swimmers. But this girl is special. This video gave me an extra appreciation for Summer. I'm sure she'll take a few medals from our Aussie girls in Paris.

I've noticed that sort of crossover in cycling as well, particularly from the Netherlands, where kids are encouraged to try a bunch of things until they find things that they're good at.

Thank you so much for your generosity with so much technical swimming information. Please could you make a jump start video? My legs always flip upwards and I don't have the feel for how my body should be to jump off the bock correctly. 🙏

Of all the sports she went through, sicker was maybe the least important but also the most dangerous to ruin a potential career. - it’s great that she shows the world there are multiple ways to achieve something. I wish her every success possible in her future.

She is a beautiful girl!!! For kids to try different sports is beneficial to development and awareness. Most kids end up don’t stick to any sport, prefer to play video games. But for those who love sports and have the will to train and practice, they will achieve something physical and mental,

It's always funny how certain people believes, they found the perfect formular when the new star comes along. Now it's McIntosh, so some believes that whatever she did is the perfect formular. Next time it might be someone doing a lot of stuff opposite this and then that will be the formular. No two people are alike. Find your own formular - the one that keeps you motivated - and just hope that it is the right one. Michael Phelps, Mark Spitz, Michael Jordan, Miguel Indurain, Eddy Merckx, Lionel Messi, Ronaldo, Tom Brady, Jerry Rice and so on each did it in different ways. Sure, some methods get to be outdated, but in general there is no perfect formular. We are all different.

She’s awesome. Conserving her energy until the big push at the end of the race! Literally a genius! Edit I may have mistaken her for another Olympic athlete in the same sport as her. The other athlete won swimming after race in the olympics, because of that technique. They both great I think 👍 😊

Swimming fast from the start of your training might be OK when you're very young like Summer but as you age it will catch up to you and injuries will follow...so warming up is essential. Young age and world records aren't new for female swimmers; in the early '70s Shane Gould held every freestyle world record from 100 m through to 1,500 m at a younger age than Summer...would you believe 14 and then 15 years of age?!
