Clearly mental health and attitude plays a big role. This is not to disregard the hours you put it, but this combination goes a long way.

Thank you for this. I had no idea about the ISL. I've seen Peaty compete in it and it looked really modern and fun. To see this backstory of Katinka really does make me respect her achievement even more. A great example of someone following the road less travelled.

I had a similar issue. Overtraining. I then went through a crisis when I was 15, and decided to stop caring so much. Trained less, put on some muscle and weight, and obviously became much stronger. Suddenly I became really competitive and felt healthier etc. Overtaining is an issue

Funfact that the girl throwing the basketball at 1:12 is actually Hosszú Katinka. There was an interview with her on Hungarian television when she was 9, and she said basketball was her backup plan if swimming didn't work out and that's why they filmed her playing.

it would be nice if you made a video about the most famous swimmers, about what results they had at 10-20 (if you can find such information, of course) ... years to see their development dynamics ... I think it was an interesting video. even several such videos could be made, for example, separately about men and separately about women. And thanks for the video!

This story inspirational Even for a champion swimmer like her need to find what's going wrong and identify the mistakes she is commiting and changed the history. What an inspiration 👌👌👌

Hosszu is one of the most complete legends of swimming. Even if she did beat "our Emily" (Seabohm) in backstroke. Hosszu was at another level to the rest of the world.

Without Shane Tusup she would be an "average" swimmer. Since they divorced she`s just declining. At the moment she`s not even in training, she`s "busy" with her restaurant and a new husband. Even the President of the Hungarian Swimming Association doesn`t know where she is at the moment.

Yes, mental attitude has a huge impact, but especially with professional athletes, overtraining is a big issue, so to train 20% less and get better results is no unexplainable miracle, or a issue of mind, but a simple effect, which is known even to hobby athletes

Quality not quantity. But don't underestimate how much the high volume at a young age helps later on. But again high quality volume is better than simply putting in the miles.

❤ Thanks you! Others are still talking & questioning about my programs… my training program mileage is only 2-3k meters per session. Sometimes I saw swimmers fatigue and tiredness face… knew their are tired from school… So we only did half of the program… Thanks to u!

@@SkillsNT Hi Coach, thanks for replying my message. I am a certified by ASCA & sport science in specific swimming from East Malaysia. I did explained to our state sports of council but sad to say even I gave them good results, medals and even 2 of my swimmers broke records. They still believe in “China Coaches Spartan Training Methods” are still the best. It doesn’t matter anymore cos I resigned from SSC. Currently I own a above ground pool to do learn to swim. Thank God that Swimmers came look for me asked to continue coaching. Thanks for your time for reading my message. When I was so helpless looking for help… ur videos helped me so much! I really appreciate those videos! Keep up all the good works. May God bless you too!
