Really? It's downhill, gmafb. We don't have any real downhill parks around here, but we do have a few regular trails that can be shuttled back to the top for a day of just riding the trail down. I can do that for hours and hours vs having to ride back up first each time where I'd be done after a couple runs.

It's refreshing to watch a rider talk about being nervous or sketched on some jumps. That's what I like about Phil, he's a real rider that talks about the real world experiences the rest of us deal with.

Phil, I watched your videos for a long time and actually ended up getting into mountain biking because of it. I never realized it before getting into biking, but its incredible how easy you make these trails look. These are some serious trails and you and your friends are absolutely crushing it. Now that I bike more I can really appreciate just how good you guys are!

I miss MTB so much! This vid really got my juices flowing. And while I know I won’t be able to ride at the level I used to nor at Phil’s “casually intense” level (haha), I know it’s worth getting back out there for the pure love of the sport. Thanks Phil! Dude.....I come back to these videos for your attitude. I've never "mountain biked" in my life. I rode a Schwinn for around a year when I lived/worked in the same part of town but it was about a 5 mile ride there and back. Probably in the best shape of my life, now due to a degenerative disorder/ intense surgeries I have zero calf muscles, so I just try to get out and play disc golf when I can but it's hard for me to build anything back. I just wanted to say thank you for always having such a positive attitude, it helps me.

I love thunder mt. such a good little spot with everything you need and it's not overcrowded or packed with the same type of people often found at highland and such. just a little more chill IMO.

when i was younger back in the 80's and early 90's i used to ride bike trails a lot and i loved it , now im in my 50's and just watching this is shaking my insides lose, lol

In the olden days (1990s), GT was in Camarillo and would have the unofficial New Years Day Little Pine Ride in Santa Barbara. 6 miles of fire road climb and single track back down. Awesome.

That's why a moto background really helps. As everyone in moto knows its better to go too far than come up short. Plus you learn the skill of judging speed for jumps, where in BMX it's not as crucial.

Broo I went to a bikepark for the first time in my life one week ago and now that I know how deadly these rooty sections actually are: you are a freaking madman! I can’t even count how many times I would’ve died on that first track with the roots and stuff. Crazy!

Phil just going so much bigger then all the other GT racers/team/engineers, I still think Phil, you don't get the cred you deserve (get back into racing haha). Also "I think" the best on high speed super tech root/rock nar as well...flow trails others seem to pull away a bit.

Which makes senses you are traveling way faster on a much heavier bike, coming up short is practically deadly. Coming up short on an mtb, is usually just a bit uncomfortable.

nice ride, Phil! Good for you that your trails are open. In my country the Philippines, we couldn't cross other cities. We are allowed only to bike intercity, which is urban riding. Not fair! The trails are better than cement or asphalt. Hoping this pandemic would end soon. More videos please.

If I recall that hip transfer on Fort Hill is the one that you sent dirt to dirt a couple years back, and numerous people have made it onto friday fails trying that same line. I also remember the video where you decided to ride in Whistler with Blake Samson, and you two sent one of the lines on D1 so deep that people didn't think it was possible to land it.

Incredible riding! You made quick work of Back if the Shack and Thunder Cliffs. Two trails that challenge me. The speed you were taking Billy Badger was awe-inspiring. There are a few spots that are tricky and have got me when I was not paying close enough attention.

Going through those trees brings back some bad memories of a tree related crash...lmao...hit a tree root and it shot me down the side of a ravine and got a dislocated knee out of it....took 2 hours trying to get my knee back in, then had to carry my bike almost 5 miles home....after that I always made sure I had a friend with me when I went bombing trails

I love Thunder Mountain and miss riding there dearly. It's fun to see how you ride my favorite blue and black diamond trails there (obv. Iwould never hit Fort Hill), so much faster and hitting option lines I never even noticed 🙂 Good motivation to keep trying to improve myself.

This is in an area I’m thinking about visiting someday, and this video, along with your other bike park videos in New England, have been super helpful in getting the feel of some of these parks before going out to them. Thanks, and keep up all the awesome content! Edit: also, 8:19 that nose bonk to berm in complete brakingbumpless silence made me stand up and walk around in circle making incomprehensible hand gestures. The maintenance seems on point.

If you come to the northeast the 3 places that are a must hit at highland, Thunder, and killington. There's a few other bike parks but those are the 3 best no matter who you ask. There's other bike parks but they aren't quite there yet. I'm not sure where you are comming from, but If you swing through New Jersey, mountain creek ranks pretty high too.

Maybe it's because I have seen the Fort Hill jumps in person so I know how big they are, but for some reason this video actually makes them look big. A rarity in KZbin-land. Pretty sure that trail will be forever above my pay-grade. Cool to see Whitney in your video, even if for a short bit. I was hoping you were going to follow her.

Vermont is the best for food on the mountain and and no lift lines , long but nothing crazy trials Thunder has the longest most fun trials and biggest open pro line Highland.... hands down the best vibe , beer , staff , and short but yet sweet trails!
