As I’ve mentioned, I have a fragrance allergy, and in my mid-50’s it became worse and I had to go fragrance free on rinse off products also. It’s more expensive than the Free and Clear, but Paula’s Choice has a wonderful fragrance free shampoo and conditioner.

This is all so true!! I used Alterna hair products for years until last summer when I suddenly developed a severe allergic reaction to their products. My Dermatologist recommended the Free and Clear shampoo and conditioner. My allergic reaction cleared up within a week! I am not in love with the Free and Clear as it is very drying. I have been carefully using the Shea Moisture leave in conditioner to combat the dryness and so far have not had a bad reaction to it.

Skin care in our Aldi (which is nice BTW), also sometimes carries those labels. I always read the ingredients, and most all skin care there has "sodium hyaluronate" in it. I'll take it! It's less fragranced than my Nivea, so it certainly isn't bad and it is affordable at 2.49 euro a product. Oh, I'm in Belgium BTW. Our Aldi do quite the range of skin care. Our Lidl has some skin care but not a lot (it is a store similar to Aldi). Lush is over the top for me too, both due to the overkill on fragrance and the pricing. Most of all the pricing! I'm on a strict budget, which is why I appreciate your channel a lot - you keep it real.

Wow I just tried out a sample of the Olay luminous whip moisturizer last night and even though I searched for the ingredients and spotted "fragrance" I really loved how it was so light on my face, the delicious scent, and didn't leave a greasy look/feel. It looked matte, a good contrast to my combo skin. But thank you for letting us know that products we use deliberately, that has fragrance, will EVENTUALLY cause a reaction with our skin. Concerning fragrance specifically: my mum has been using moisturizers and assorted other products for a good 20-30 years now and has had zero issues that I'm aware of....I start getting into care at 33, buy some products with fragrance annnd bam, in about 3-4 months I developed contact dermatitis (it's cleared up now). So idk what to make of all this. I guess not all fragrance is created equal and how you react may have something to do with the other products you're using and your skin type/genetics. I know my skin is much more like my dad's but I ain't a doctor. I'm guessing if you've been using a product with fragrance for like, 6 months then you're probably in the clear but I'd be careful about what you go mixing it with. I think a lot of people, myself included at one point, kinda ignore the warnings about fragrance. Sometimes when you're out shopping it seems like it's in almost EVERYTHING, so it can't be that bad, right? Wrong.

It’s not right for companies to label their products fragrance free if it truly isn’t! I’m studying to be an esthetician in a Dermalogica sponsored program and I am so allergic to it! Full of essential oils and botanical ingredients. Started with perioral dermatitis now every time I even put the products on my hands to use on a client I break out in hives up my arms, it’s happened about 3 times each a month apart. Schools shouldn’t be allowed to use products like that either if it’s known to be a common allergen! It upsets me so much, we’re supposed to make the skin better not highly reactive.

I’ve stopped using facial products that contain fragrance, essential oils and other skin irritants, many many years ago... and it’s helped manage my rosacea disease. A few years ago, I also developed eczema. One I eliminated fragranced detergents, body wash and lotions, the eczema has been reduced significantly. (I still get a few occasional spots.) Having said that... I’m occasionally slipping... and indulge myself with a bit of scented hand cream. (I know... i should stop that!!! *sigh*)

Amazing video as always, can you do a part 2,3,4.....etc please ^.^
As always, thank you very much for this video. It´s informative and in the same time also funny. So basically dermatologist tested means that some doctor tried that, it´s so misleading.
