Thank you Dr. Dray ! I appreciate as a social worker you discussing how the heat affects those who take certain psychotropic medications. Here in New York, I have been ready since March. Thanks to you ---I am stocked up on sunscreen, sun -glasses, UPF 50 gloves and baseball caps. Last year, I even purchased some long sleeve polo shirts from Coolibar ( Great, comfortable material) Have a great day !

My main issues are the even though my skin is protected with sunscreen (SPF 70+ reapplied religiously), my Melasma and Rosacea act up so much from the heat alone.

My face itches so so much because of sweating. And it gets raw just from dabbing off the sweat. I can't even rub in the skincare in summers. Only max 2-3 products only dabbing. Anything more and skin will irritate even by the serums etc. 😢😢😢😢

@@bandana_rathore Is it possible you are allergic to the dimethicone, which is priming you to itch when sweaty? It’s in loads of serums, moisturizers, sunscreens and hair products. I am sensitive to it and will break out if there’s too much of it in a product.

The humidity makes all the difference. I grew up in a hot humid summer climate. Now I live in the Pacific Northwest where the summers are dry so it’s more tolerable, and nights are always cool. Big con though is no A/C in older buildings.

Agreed! I wear Full Hijab including Abaya and underneath I wear cotton long sleeved loose Ts and Hareem trousers and people side eye me and make comments. But it is much cooler my skin doesn't get hot. Even my head stays cool. And the cotton wicks away sweat. As someone who didn't wear Hijab before I know the difference and it is massive. So much more comfortable.

Thanks for all the great tips. Mid way through the video you mentioned using an anti dandruff shampoo with zinc to deal with folliculitis. BEWARE: Head & Shoulders w/ pyrithione zinc contains Methylisothiazolinone. This chemical is often problematic to people, like myself with sensitive skin and can cause severe rashes. I used to use this product to deal with scalp folliculitis, but the shampoo made the issue worse because of this chemical. It wasn't until I did skin testing at my Derm that I realized I am extremely allergic to this chemical.

@@MuslimahInSolace It could be Methylisothiazolinone. To find out you would have to be tested by a Derm. Regardless, probably best to avoid harsh chemicals and stick with shampoo that has natural ingredients for more sensitive skin.

Currently Im trying to use lotion (gold bond diabetics), with cotton gloves. And the nitrile over all that. So far, it's working all right, but i am still fighting patches of contact dermatitis where the cotton rolls down and the gloves rub the skin. Have you ever addressed polymorphic skin eruption? I suffer from this every spring... and derm just told me people of northern European heritage aren't meant to be in the sun! That's pretty impossible to totally avoid sun.. Hands seem to be the worst primarily from driving .... sunscreen seems to have no effect whatsoever on whether the breakouts occur. Usually subsides mid summer, but spring & early summer breakouts annually occur. Live in Iowa where winters are cold & summers hot!

Is there a good lightweight tinted sunscreen you recommend? I've been wearing Color Science on your recommendation, it's been great for reducing upper lip melasma. It's heavy feeling though and actually a little too dark for my natural skin tone.

My facial acne flares up in July and August, it even feels more angry and irritated when its really humid. Rinsing with cold water that's been in the fridge helps a bit. Tips for that would be appreciated.

Something with all three would probably be prescription only and/or expensive. There are salicylic body washes.

I need a video on cosmetic procedures to lighten intimate areas, I know I can't possibly be the only one. I don't care about creams. What's the Lazer, the peels? The contraindications and what you would recommend as the lesser evil. I'd love to hear it from a professional like you!

I had a job where the AC would invariably die for July and August yearly. It was so hot that I would not even pee no matter how much water I drank. Also, the fan that dried the sweat just made things worse because it was like a false sense of coolness because it was drying the sweat, but the other damages were still building up that whole time. I would get blinding headaches and would have leg cramping all night. Also, every day that followed, the exhaustion would start earlier and be worse, like the body never had time to improve tolerance because each day you were in there being exposed. It was scary how badly my body was messed up from that abuse.

So I love that you make affordable skin care look amazing… you have such a beautiful glow about you. I’d love to see you use a full higher priced routine to see how that glow compares to you. Like a full tatcha like brand. You’d end up spending a fortune on that tho lol

Dr Dray aren’t you in Houston where it is very hot and humid right now? Thanks so much for the details because the heat is very strong right now where I live as well. I hope you are doing ok and as always I’m very grateful for your videos. Is it true that there are sunscreen products that are more effective in Europe than the ones we have in the USA? Also the prickly heat can cause people to erroneously take antihistamines and could they also contribute to drug related heat intolerance? Also can scar tissue on the skin prevent sweating?

I have tried & worn many mineral sunscreens, especially water resistant, over the decades but haven't found any that I actually LIKE to wear. If I'm a tiny bit perspiring they feel uncomfortable on my arms and especially the back of my legs when I'm sitting in the car or kayaking or carrying something or doing anything other than just standing not touching anything! I've found it virtually impossible to clean waterproof mineral sunscreen off of black car interiors & seatbelt straps.... I've stained other people's cars....
