Earlier my facial skin looked dry and dull all the time, even upon waking. But following I did some research and made some changes, my face began glowing in just a few weeks. Here is what I did: I ate a balanced diet that included foods like lentils, roti, green vegetables, and brown rice. This helped nourish my body from the inside. I used a face wash with the right pH level and had black rice water. I opted for the Litlextraa riceberrry face wash, and it worked nice for my skin. I made it a habit to drink at least 2 liters of water daily. I engaged in physical activity on a daily basis, which made me sweating and removed impurities from my body.

This has been my fourth time ordering this facewash of rice berry Litle Exttra. The face wash is extremely refreshing, hydrating, lightweight, and cleanses the skin really well. Plus is chemically free. As for talking about the quantity, it's great for this price point, especially if you compare it to other facewash in the similar range. The texture does feel a bit slimy on the face when you use it for the first few times, but then you become used to it. So, without a doubt, a must-try! Leaves your skin smooth and revitalised.

The thing with the jade rollers is that they are taken out of context by the occidental beauty industry. They are inspired in gua sha which is a massage technique to relax the face, muscles and to do linfatic drainage as you just said. It was originally done with a jade flat shaped object with some specific forms. I've been doing gua sha on my face and body for ten years and it works wonders for tension and muscles pains. But yeah, it's not going to help with acne or rosacea, that is definetely made up by the beauty industry.

I admire that professionals are steering consumers into developing an understanding of ingredients + their benefits. As the beauty industry inundates us with limitless makeup options, it’s evident those creative principles can’t translate to how we approach skincare.. especially with actives! The price of some of these tools seriously can buy you a over years worth of sunscreen.

This is true! It's wonderful that these board-certified dermatologists are sharing their knowledge with everyday people. With regard to those sonic cleansing devices, I'd read from others that they can unfortunately cause broken capillaries (the capillaries are the tiny blood vessels at the ends of the arteries) that may look like red or pink threads in the skin.

@@lindsayh.8503 i had a friend that started to get acne around 10-11 a few years before he hit puberty, and i started to get random little bumps around 11 as well. it’s most common when you’re a teenager, but younger kids can get acne definitely. it might be clogged pores from touching his face with dirty hands, irritation, something that isn’t acne as well, but have him start a simple routine of washing his face with water at the very least every morning and night and using a light moisturizer and sunscreen. that’s a good routine for anyone to have, acne prone or not, and especially to start young. it’ll make his future possible experiences with acne much easier because he’s already in the habit of taking care of his skin.

Yeah I am 41 and people often think I am a lot younger and will literally get out their phone to take down a list of everything I do. I do NOTHING. Wash my face and moisturise (when I remember) with whatever is on sale. My mother, aunts and grandmother all look young too, people used to think my nana was my mother and she was 60 and kids at school thought my mum was a teenage mother but she had me at 25. I also have an indoor lifestyle, the sun is the worst for skin and because I’m pale I’m always careful. A few years ago I was looking for a part time job and I applied at a few beauty counters and they were all excited for me to promote their products, but I wasn’t going to lie to people. It’s genetic and sun + lifestyle (stress, drinking, drugs) and none of those can be reversed or changed.

When I was a kid I had cartilage from my rib removed and used to reconstruct my trachea. I remember the surgeon at the time told my mom to have me put vitamin e (from a capsule) on the scars. I was 11- and they were new scars and already a bit keloid. I convinced her to to let me stop using it when it started to cause irritation. So interesting to know it wouldn’t have made a difference if I stuck with it.

Just a side note Korean Toners which are not like American Toners are really important in Korean Skin care because they prime the skin to soak up what's being put on the face they are not harsh and drying like the American Toners, also Jade rollers are for that very purpose to massage and drain the face of toxins to increase blood flow ,I particularly like Gua Sha which are really good for this If your like me and you get a puffy face this really helps to drain extra fluid from your face, you use it after you put on your facial care products which also help massage them deeper into your skin but I really apprciate what the doctors were saying about if you like to spend time on your skin then these things are really nice to do but if not or if it's not really beneficial to you then don't bother with it. It really is on a person to person basis and what it is that matter to you. Great advise as usual doctors!

Then I started becoming a microbiologist and immediately switched to silicone facebrushes because wow ew no. My routine used to include like 10 different products, I bought everything that social media recommended, spend hundreds on Clinique and still had bad skin until I boiled my routine down to a perfume free hyaluronic acid moisturising cream (nø cosmetics), the cerave sensitive skin cleanser and OCCASIONALLY AHA+BHA or Glycolic acid toner by the ordinary. And mostly spf 50 if I don’t accidentally forget it lmao.

Aah its nice to have actual skin doctors talk about skincare. Was never really a fan of beauty influencers. Why do they even call themselves skincare gurus when they are not professionals in the field? Most of the time, all they do is rave about the packaging (like come on) and give reviews about products which they only tried for a few days. And while there are beauty influencers who actually do research, they can only know so much 🙃 Its always best to listen to actual professionals.

During its heyday I bought a Clarasonic mini. All the influencers on KZbin promoted it as skin-changing and wonderful. Even with the softest brush head, it felt too aggressive on my skin. I could not imagine using it daily… something just didn’t feel right about it. I’m glad I listened to my intuition. I stopped using it entirely pretty quickly. I figured using chemical exfoliants would be much healthier and kinder to the skin.

Doctors, thank you for doing these vids. Specifically love the awareness in pore vacuums. Worked in derm for three years and this fad has made me cringe, knowing that patients were going to be heading to the derm complaining about redness they caused theirselves while denying they caused it theirselves(telangiectasia). Also, derm rollers…come on people!! Make sure to say what using these things can lead to. People overusing retinoids, strength, overusing BP and SA. Every patient is different which is why you need to see the dermatologist so they can see and measure your needs. Most common thing I’ve seen is powdery skin or flaky skin from screwing up the healthy balance of bacteria and oils on the skin over stripping it by overuse of chemicals and treatments. Love your stuff!

My cleanser is the only cleanser my skin won’t break out to but paired with the foreo it’s even better! Especially because being so oily I get blackheads under the skin and pimples under the skin. Thank you for all your videos, they are funny, informative and useful! I am subscribing. Two things you mentioned I use daily. If jade rollers help with lymphatic drainage, that is what they can be used for. You do not need it for tretaing the skin, but when used cool in the morning it helps immediately with how your face looks and feels! And it helps to absorb the serum before the next step. I am big on how calm and caring this morning ritual is, makes me looking forward to getting up from bed. I also use a very gentle toner (alcohol free) in the morning after just washing my face with water instead of face wash and during the day to freshen up before reapplying sunscreen. Works for me, though. Doesnt have to for anyone else.

I once had an estatician tell me she thought jade rollers were the single most skin changing development in the past few years, and I can see that, BUT it's probably because using the jade rollers really changes the way you APPLY your skincare aka actually giving it time to penetrate, incorporating some skin massage, and also being more intentional/ gentle vs the hectic skin scrub thing we all used to do all the time. The roller itself is meh.

Well I'm glad I had the sense to spring for the silicone sonic cleaner over the rotating brush as my intuition told me it would be too rough to incorporate on a daily basis. When it comes to toners for me it's just an extra step for fun and I actually rotate four different brands depending on how my skin is looking. Sometimes I use the hydrating one, the pure witch hazel, the glycolic acid, or the vitamin c toner. It's kind of fun playing doctor and deciding what I could use for the day. ☺️

For me I would only use the jade roller for the lymphatic purpose. Looks easy for that purpose. I always forget to do it, only because I'm usually in a rush. However, might remind me to do it. Glad to know that my thought on it was correct though.

I have carpal tunnel in both my wrists and I have issues with my skin. I love the low vibration silicone face cleanser and it's really helped me. I like that I can clean it and keep it clean between washings and it isn't gonna be full of bacteria. I have a tendency to pick at my skin when really stressed and anything I can do to keep my hands off my face helps me from destroying my face...again. After being stalked and harassed by my ex and his new girlfriend, I picked at my face so badly that I have a scar on my nose now. I'm glad that type that I use isn't on your bad list. Edit: I also hold a lot of tension in my jaw, so the gently vibrations help relax those muscles. Oh, and hydrocolloid patches on breakouts and on my nose.

Jade rollers are great for any products you have in tubes, like masks, toothpaste, etc., because you can use them to press down from the bottom of the tube upward to help squeeze our every last bit before you have to cut the tube diagonally with a scissors to get the rest out before you discard the tube.

I also have a Jade roller. It was inexpensive and I love it. It just feels good. A spoon wouldn't roll over the skin, but sure it could work. Theres nothing wrong with using a Jade roller because you enjoy it but I just hate that its always advertised as anti-aging which its not. My mom uses one and its not for anti-aging reasons, but because of all the areas to massage we always forget the face which is an important area so she finds it important to massage the face.

If you use jade rollers correctly along with meridian points, it does work. There are special points on your face that works with diff organs in your body. But you will want to do meridian points around the rest of the body too. I had a customer whom after we treated the large intestine channel, she had a reduction of pigmentation on her face itself. It was very significant. You don’t need a jade roller. U can use a smooth porcelain spoon. Some use a metal spoon but I don’t prefer that. Check how to do it and read up on Meridian points to get the best effect. Not just face wise but health wise.

I was shocked that toner made the list. As an esthetician I learned that toners are important for restoring the PH of the skin. The products we use in the treatment room don't strip the skin the way products like sea breeze do.

I can't get rid of my Sea Breeze for sensitive skin. It's the only thing I've used that is affordable & really gets my skin clean. I have dry skin but it doesn't make my skin dry at all, and my skin looks brighter after using it. Any other kind of soap or cleaner makes my skin dry.

I love witch hazel too. Honestly I have sensitive skin and eczema and it is so gentle. I do use a hydrating tone without alcohol after my cleanser and it helps alot with my enlarged pores. I think if it works for you then use the product. It's hard to suggest one product to the masses cause every person has a different skin type.

I used a Clarisonic from 2012-2019 and it made my skin routine fun and satisfying because I did notice the difference since I’m cleaning well and my products worked better. When it died in the end of 2019 I decided to try silicone devices since they were suggested but they just did not do the job well enough. I noticed my skin was becoming more congested even with skincare I used for a while and loved because of how good they work (Paula’s Choice BHA) and I also tried manual double cleansing. My skin was freaking out and getting textured that I just did not get before. I finally decided to try a similar device to Clarisonic which I got at Target called Spa Sciences Nova and I slowly incorporated it into my routine (I can now handle using morning and night. I am male maybe my skin handles it better) and wow my skin must have really missed the thorough cleansing because it’s looking smoother every day and I’m kind of mad I waited so long and wasted money on lame devices. I now am starting to look forward to washing my face again. My pores just feel much clearer. I do make sure to pay attention to my skin and try to keep a healthy barrier with great products 😇 I am gentle with it and keep it clean and sanitized. It may not work for all people but others can really see great results!

I'm with you. I love the Clarisonic! I still have the Mia from 2012 lol. Sucks they went under. I actually bought a backup on Ebay and stocked up on their brushes too. They had one of the best face cleansers too so I bought a few bottles of it on Ebay (I'm cool with expired products). I tried the silicone device and also felt like it did very little.
