To Sample king.....Thanks so much man....I am New to the mpc format but an "old school" keyboardist of over 45 years....so I don't have time to learn everything to hard way. You are saving my so much time and I surely appreciate it. Keep up the great work as I know many others benefit from your knowledge also. Thanks again and Merry Christmas to you and family....

thanks for great videos. I have a few problems getting the MPC 61 Keys to do, what I would like to do. Can you help? The problems are as follows: I'm starting a Depeche Mode-coverband and using the MPC 61 Keys for live. Backtracks are done in Logic, so I don't need the workstation in the keyboard. The backtracks will be triggered from a laptop. What I need is the following: Create a setlist og list of songs where I split the keyboard in x antal parts each one having a sound maybe with a little effects. Some of it will be samples, that I sample from logic - and some of them synths from the Akai itself. But I can't find out how to do it and I'm not sure about the difference between projects, programs, keygroups, tracks etc. I really just need, what Depeche calls x number of banks (one for each song) with x number of sounds. Maybe I would like to connect a Samplepad (percussion) triggering percussive sounds/samples in the Akai. The best way to explain it is to see this video (short) from 00:54. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5ynfHxjqLWlhJI best regards Stefan, Denmark

What's up OG Doc. Long time fan I purchased MPC2000xl, MPC2500 and MPC5000, videos classes from you back in the day. I have a question can you sample and chop directly to the keys like we could on the ASR10 and the Triton, or only to the pads, if so would you put up a quick video? Thanks
@SampleKingsVideos2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can just sample to pad.
@myreasoning2 жыл бұрын
@@SampleKingsVideos Thanks for the reply, I must be doing something wrong because after I sample and hit the key I just hear internal keyboard sound, but the sample works on the pad just fine when I tap pad. I just thought that wasn't an option because every video I see people only sample directly to pad.

Hey, like everyone else SO grateful for your time making this amazingly helpful video. I have one question, I am worried about CPU usage/power. If I use 5 0r 6 of the plugins, combined with samples, maybe vocals too is the MPC Key powerful enough or will it just max out and freeze like I’ve read on other sites? Finally, do you think Akai would release a bigger more powerful version of this keyboard? Again, thanks for your time. Take care.

I would use controller mode so my computer does the work the 61 is good for 4 tracks of plugins easily.

@@SampleKingsVideos Very grateful for your reply! Last questions I promise…My error, I meant RAM. I’d rather use it standalone, so that means the RAM won’t be enough cope with a big track? Have experienced any issues in standalone mode? Again, thanks for your time. Won’t bug you again!

I bought this at GC for an open box discount. Whoever had it before me made a beat and saved it as “day 1”. They had taken an edm pack with the cheesy loud reverb vocals on one of the Akai kit. They took the vocals and put on 16 levels and hit a bunch of random notes. If they had watched this video I probably wouldn’t have damaged my hearing.

Im on the fence with buying this. I have yet to see anyone sample, for example, say 1 or 2 seconds of a piano or bass from a record. And then assign it to the keys, rather than the pads. So you can have the full range of notes/semitones from the record sample. Not from the sound kits that are included. Do you know if this is possible on this machine?

The same filters and folders thing is on the force and I’ve got to be honest I have never got my head around it. It’s massively unintuitive! I’ve got about 3 minutes in and your fumbling around going back to “internal” much like I do every time I use the dam thing. It looks like you’re a new user and you’re trying to figure out how to use it??? The file management system is a PITA isn't it?! I’m sorry dude I know how much time it takes to make these videos but I still don’t understand the file management system?
