willy is like one of those toddlers that falls down and then pops back up and yells I'M OKAY and keeps going. eta: it looks like it might've been the corner where the fabrics come together, those might turn up just enough to catch his little feet. the care you showed him after was very sweet, you're clearly a+ piggie fam.

I love how she makes sure that all of her piggies are ok because I know some people that have guinea pigs that should not have them because they drop them and they don't take care of them..I am so glad that she takes care them.

Replayed it a few times since I was wondering how the little guy ended up on his side. At 6:53 you can catch him right before the camera moves doing a side to side motion like one of his nails got stuck in the fiber. He was closer to the back of the cage before that, then upon hearing you, he made a pretty quick move to be closer to you, then got held up by the rug, Glad hes ok tho :-)

that must have been so scary to see him flopping around on his back, I can hear the concern and worry in your voice. I'm glad that you guys got to the vet and found out what the issue was with Willy Wobblesworth (LOL) as if he didn't have enough problems already, poor little man. In answer to your question tho, yes, hay gets everywhere, so do the droppings. Both my piggies pull hay out, I imagine it's their nesting instincts, also they naturally eat off the ground so I can see why some prefer to eat out of a pile as opposed to a rack. The new hay racks I have have cut down greatly on the waste tho

Makes me miss my piggies.. my first one died about a week ago and then my second one was so depressed he didn't eat or drink or move and we tried to get him out and hand feed him daily but he just never ate enough.. he died about 3 days ago :( R.I.P. Our two bunnies get the fancy mixed greens and when we are out and need to go to the store we give them just plain romaine they seem to think it is the most amazing thing on the planet... My one boy used to pull hay out and just leave it on the ground. He did it before I could introduce him to his friend. Now that he has a friend to fight over hay with he's been more about eating it and less about wasting it. Also, I definitely notice hay gets everywhere. I have cage in my dining room but sometimes it will even end up in the living room or the kitchen. I have no idea how this happens.

Yes yes yes to the hay waste situation. I have 8 piggies and this is a constant struggle. I also use bent grids to hold hay and hay still ends up everywhere, rejected and then abruptly peed on. I only use Oxbow so this gets pricey. The one solution I found that helps SOMEWHAT is to get Oxbow orchard grass hay and sort of wind it up into a densely packed ball and shove it into the bent grid (also attaching the the grid vertically like a tower helped a bit). However orchard grass from Oxbow is only available in smaller quantities near me and I like to feed Timothy primarily.
