Other hilarious skip takes: 1.) SAS: So you saying the players of the Denver Broncos rather have Tim Tebow than Tom Brady? Skip: *sighs* the numbers dont lie, and the number i like is (insert stat that makes tebow look good) 2.) “Box office? What about tim tebow he’s box office.” 3.) “Clutchler will lead the bears past the Packers.” 4.) The whole 2016 cavs campaign
@cheerioss-91213 жыл бұрын
@@johnnyblingg Eh not really Tatum wasn’t nearly as hyped up as Manziel and before LeBron cane back to cleveland you gotta remember he left for a super team and he still struggled to win chips. So you can’t really compare him winning as much as tom brady at this point. He left super team to coming home to play with an unproven kid in kyrie and Kevin Love. and Johnny manziel was hyped up to be basically as good as mahomes is right now so it isn’t exactly crazy it was a bit of a reach but not totally out of the ordinary to say.

It would fine for entertainment if he was some KZbin channel or a podcast but he’s actually in live television trolling Lebron on a daily basis and getting paid millions in the process. Yet people constantly tell me, “the media favours Lebron”, yet they pay someone like Skip Bayless more than most NBA rookies to tear down Lebron’s legacy every chance he gets. It’s gotten so bad to the point where people will genuinely argue false narratives like “Lebron isn’t clutch”, narratives that are started by Skip but will be embarrassed when faced with factual evidence and statistics that say otherwise which only further proves how terrible Skip Bayless is as an analyst.

Sports media realized a long time ago that many fans don't see athletes as people, simply entertainment, so when they found a way to whittle down that begrudging attitude to hot takes and hate clicks it became fuel for sports fans to gravitate towards. Skip himself is a like a jester in a court that happens to know a little too much, he appears to be baseless humor and absurdity personified but really he's just as in touch with what people think of him and how they towards him as anyone else and can use it to his advantage. Skip bayless is a great entertainer, and he represents the opinions of a casual viewer articulated in a way that only decades of sports writing and TV show hosting can produce. He is without a doubt one of the most entertaining “analysts” that I have listened to and is only a smidge more of a charlatan than shannon, SAS, nick wright, etc. People dont listen to sports talk shows to get given fucking SABRmetrics, or whatever. They want narratives. If the narrative is say... steph is a choker, who doesnt want to see if he will come in clutch in the playoffs... It is wayy more intriguing than determining how steph has influenced his playoff WAR average, or even some other, more balanced take based on the same anecdotal method that most journalists lean on. Skip is the king of sports commentary metagame and that isnt changing any time soon.
