I guess this is the definition of realistic. So two guys in a boat pull right into the spot we were casting. Also the definition of rude and inconsiderate! This is why I don't like fishing in crowded areas. It's so awesome that you moved to be the nicer guys, and then started catching more and better fish. White bass are so much fun on light tackle! You guys looked like you had a great time. Love the colab videos. Good comradery is hard to beat! Thanks for sharing. I loved near the end when Alex was using the i_fish ultra lite rig and set the hook on that skipjack like he was bass fishing with 40 lb. test! The mix of two different styles of fishing is just so great to see. Both guys enjoying catching fish their own way. Just an awesome and refreshing fishing video for KZbin.

thank you sir, for watching an old video and writing such a nice comment. It seems like my fishing videos are pretty much dead after the first 2 weeks..but maybe not.. : )

@@ifishcatfish I only found your channel a couple of weeks ago, so I'm still "catching up" so to speak. (Probobly won't watch your rod and reel reviews of the "older" models gear, but sure have enjoyed the new reel ad rod videos. Unfortunately, I now know what I've bee missing. Don't worry, I'm still going to enjoy what I have, but now to the max! Gonna tweak a couple of things a-la Victor). I really appreciate your attention to detail. My wife came into the office while I was watching a few days ago and I made a comment to her about how much I was enjoying your channel in part because of how detailed you are. She actually caught a few minutes of your video while she was checking her computer for work related things and when she left she said "I can see why YOU like him." I was impressed enough to order some reel grease and two of your bobber set ups. I noticed yesterday that I forgot to order the jig micro clips. Not to worry... I'll place another order in a few weeks after I determine what jig heads I might need more of. I do have a question. What tools do you use for your drag washer work? and also.. is there a good place to purchase washers from? Thanks! I look forward to watching and learning much more from your channel! After being an ultra lite advocate and fisherman for over 40 years, it blew my mind to realize how much I didn't know about "real" ultra lite fishing. I have always been the guy who catches 10 times more fish than the other fishermen fishing the same water at the same time because I used ultra lite gear! If I still fished from a boat I would most likely invest in one really nice rod and reel rig. Since I'm fishing from the bank now, I'll most likely just be content to tweak what I have (better jigs, floats, and smooth out my Stradic 1000 drags!). I'm also going to try some of that Varivas line on two of my reels . One for "twitching" and one for the float rig. Thanks for taking the time to make such excellent informative videos. ...So I bet you thought you were unique in your "making things too long" skill set. Ha! Tight lines!

to put the grease you don't need any tool at all. A small flat screwdriver will work just perfect! THere is no good place to buy washers though... there just isn't. I recommend use my grease and that leave it like that. Otherwise u have so spend a lot of money to order from afar, and economics don't make sense. And tell your wife i appreciate the vote of approval!

Tackle question….just got the Legalis reel victor thanks to your recent video …love. My question is do you have in your videos one about basic reel maintenance each year when most of us have to pause for a month or two due to freezing temperatures. Should everyone know how to take a reel apart and clean and oil it like you show….or for the average angler is that some that is not recommended…..is there a basic mini tear down that everyone should do each year ….or is the maintenance something that requires zero disassembly. For me ..I would find a mini video on basic care should be super valuable if you ever have time to do that….many thanks.

Best advice is to keep it clean. If u do, u don't have to open the reel at least 3 years or so... Opening these reels can be dangerous if you have never done it... Clean the line roller, oil the main shaft, and don't open the body... especially if the reel runs nice

I'm thinking in January this will offer a nice break from white bass on TN river.. Randy, they told me they stocked normandy with trout already, but i went 3 times and haven't gotten a nibble, nor have i seen a single fish caught there this year with my eyes. People told me someone caught but i haven't seen. Is there a way to tell for sure if they stocked it?
@troutmagnetman
@troutmagnetman Жыл бұрын
@@ifishcatfish that’s a great place to fish in the winter. Not sure if the trout have been stocked yet or not. If there are people over there fishing then they have probably stocked.

Man it drives me crazy when other people's game plan to fish is to go right on top of where other people are catching. How do you become a better fisherman by doing that? Happens all the time in the white bass runs and what pisses me off is that even after all that, they can't catch anything. If your gonna invade in a person's spot at least catch something.

I saw that in Wisconsing white bass runs... it was bad... We didn't really find any great spots there though... it was the same everywhere.. yellow bass, white bass, skipjack..

I like how even if those two parked the boat where you are catching fish. You where not confrontational and play it cool. I have met a couple of fishermen who escalate things when it comes to situations like that but Im glad to see you are level headed. I know its an unspoken rule not to steal someones spot specially when you got there first.
@ifishcatfish
@ifishcatfish Жыл бұрын
There was the same fish everywhere.. the spot was really not that critical. These fools saw us catching fish and thought that was the spot and parked in front of us but we just moved over because it was all the same. They never caught anything anyway : )

Great Video guys. Love to see you guys fish together. But if i was you guys, I would have fired up the big motor and blowed that boat off the water. No sense in fishing on top of people.

I already told him, and u can kind of hear it in the video, that when he moved on top of where we were casting he spooked all the fish anyway. There was nothing left for me to spook with the big motor. Also we want to fish there again next week and don't want a scandal with people who will be there all the time

@@ifishcatfish lol yeah I get that. No reason to make enemies. I had similar happen to me. Fishing about 50 feet from main channel point. And a pontoon came off the main channel and tied up on the point in front of me. I just kept fishing on around them.
