Skjolden... And our trip to the Jostedal glacier

Skjolden our second port of call .After sailing through the Sognefjord Fjord, the longest in Norway we arrived at Skjolden .
Set my alarm to get up early so I could film the stunning scenery from the balcony .
We chose to go on an excursion with Princess Cruises to the Jostedal Glacier .This was about an hour journey with a couple of stops for photos .It was a rotten day as far as the weather was concerned ,but didn't spoil the view of the many water falls on route .
A large part of the Glacier has receded and we did not get to see much of it from our view point .We then visited the centre for some coffee and toilet breaks .All in all an ok excursion , not the best but it was great to see some more of the beautiful scenery.

Norway is sto stunning regardless of the weather. Pearl you looked absolutely stunning, that dress is beautiful and the colour really suits you.

Hi Marecia, thank you very much . That was a dress Pearl wore for our daughters wedding . So it is stuck in the wardrobe and doesn’t see the light of day. So I was glad she bought it with her . Thanks for watching as always.

Hi Rene , your right the weather did give the scenery a different look , especially the low clouds. It was good to see the Glacier although we couldn’t get very close . @neilwilliams4184 Hi Neil , I think Princess is probably a bit more up market. But the atrium on Iona is bigger, and all glass so you will always have great views . That is why we have booked to go back in 2025 on Iona .Hope this helps .

Hi folks, we did this cruise in July and the weather was just as bad. Even the locals were moaning about the rain. I guess their summer is shorter than ours so they have the right to moan. Wife wants to know where Pearl buys her dresses? 😇

Hi Richard, yeah it wasn’t the best weather but the scenery was still beautiful. When we went up the cable car in Olden we couldn’t see a thing because of fog . Now as for dresses I’ve been informed Wallis , Debenhams when it was about , and good old charity shops , where I always encourage her to go for the sake of my wallet 😂. @@pearlandbrianstripsandadve8619 I’ll swap experiences in Olden 😂 Wife was literally sick in the street a mile from the ship. Slow walk back and then we had to isolate in our cabin for 36 hours. Yeah.. I’d have put up with the rain over that. Not our best cruise Debenhams are greatly missed. Next time you’re in Southampton check out the Affordable wedding dress shop upstairs in the main shopping mall in town. Wife’s favourite shop.. 🤦🏻‍♂️
