I think it has a very practical space for a Indian family. Usually men drive and sit in front seats. Children sit in rear seats. And also if somebody is 5 feet 8 inches, that person should not have any problem in seating on rear seat. Rear seat space is better than Venue, nexon.

absolutely, my parents are shorter and can sit in the back comfortably. if your entire gang is 6 feet and above then you better buy a breeza. but wheelbase is bigger than nexon. the space in the back is enough. good of them to scoop the roof a little for headroom. Wish fronx had also done it or else that car was perfect also.

I dont agree , in rear look I don't like exter design , althought it resembed to exter in rear look but it is lot sleeker and rugged , connecting lights it is so common in these days , someditines it looks overdone, like tubelight

If I have to buy a car between Nexon, 3X0 or Kylaq (because safety is my 1st priority) I think first I'll think about service and companies approach towards customers. I have a kushaq and I know how good the service of Skoda is compared to Tata and Mahindra. Recent news from many youtubers also confirm this. We have seen how Tata and Mahindra deals with customer after they sell faulty units to customers.

The big boot space in small cars does serve some purpose. It’s for those who travel alone or with plus one and carry half of the house with them even on a 2-day trip.

Actually I rejected XUV300 over Nexon as I wanted boot space and not leg room. My kids are always in the back and we have lot of luggage during our travels, may be Skoda is eyeing that young family of a husband and wife with one or two kids. Usually we dont have any one else travelling with us as parents have their car, friends have their car and there is not a situation were we had to share our back seat, even a family movie night or a marriage trip makes everyone coming in their own car and rear legroom is never a concern, but boot is must...

It will be foolish on my part to expect Mercedes like feature in a Maruti 800. You need to consider the quality of the car in the given price-band. As far as legroom on rear seat is concerned, I have observed that if driver seat is adjusted for a 6’ person, rear seat is OK for a 5’10” person. The average height of average Indian male is 5’8”-5’9”. So, I think rear seat position can be managed. Good thing is that all safety features including TPMS are available from the base model. Yes I agree with you that Skoda could have provided 360 degrees camera at least in the upper models. Second drawback is that no front parking sensors are given and in the rear side only two parking sensors are provided instead of four.

Boot space is large because they calculated it without the parcel tray (up to the ceiling). But yeah, compared to 3XO (as both mention boot space in the same way), leg room will be less.

Your critique is justified.the compromised rear seat leg room for larger boot space is a grave mistake. It could have easily separated itself from rest of the pack in its segment if it had been the other way around.

Yes Prakyat! You have highlighted really good points and I completely agree with you. Boot space should not be increased at the cost of Leg room comfort. Rear leg room looks cramped and this could be a deal breaker for a lot of people. Also, 446 liters of boot space is such a marketing gimmick. The real boot space should be up to parcel tray. You use boot space only when going on trips and Indian mentality is that we try to squeeze things and make adjustments in our luggage and that can be managed. Also, most of the time while driving in the city, you won't be using the boot space. Space management is so crucial in this segment. A slight compromise in the boot space would have provided a better leg room but they fucked it despite having the 2nd largest wheel base in the segment. So disappointed! Rear Design is polarizing but it has started to grow on me since it's a conventional Skoda design and I think it is the best looking car in this segment but they have fucked up with the leg room comfort.

They should have provided more room in rear seats. Bigger boot is mostly not fully utilised. Also I hope sunroof is not mandatory for higher variants

Bring anything and there will be issues. One car can't satisfy all. Better they bring another with close to 300-325 Ltrs bootspace and better legroon in the rear. People who want bootspace can go for Kylaq. Others can choose the other option. Product diversification is required as same size doesn't fits all. Personally I think Magnite is the best for many with decent legroom and bootspace combo. Companies should foxus on cars of that size. Hopefully we can get smaller Slavia soon. In Kylaq rear seat incline should have been there or better approach would have been to provide flexible seating option like Inster provides in EV. There was no need of powered seats, sunroof etc. Instead they should have focussed on 360 ° camera, dual channel dashcam, fog lights and underbody engine bay covering. Ventilated seats too are gimmick if ac isn't powerful. AC performance of Kylaq will be tested during May-June only. Rest of the stuff provided by Skoda is fine.

Exter jaisa nahi hain rear design. It looks good. Skoda designs are timeless..even after many years , designs look good. But I totally agree with the rear seat legroom. People who sit in rear seats will be uncomfortable after some distance. We can adjust the baggage sizes by reducing the contents to fit inside a smaller boot. But we cannot adjust the rear seat space or shrink the size of people sitting on rear seats! A little more legroom would have been wonderful.

Yes I agree with you. There was just no need of offering the best bootspace in the Segment. Instead should have offered fairly decent legroom for Rear Seat occupants. Simple answer to the above was to offer 4"-6" Sliding Rear Seat. So for all regular daily short drives you can push back the rear seat & compromise the bootspace. And at all your require bigger Bootspace Slide the Rear Seat in front & load the luggage & make legroom compromise. Rest absolutely no Complains. Skoda should offer Sunroof, Auto Headlamps & Auto Rain Sensing Wipers as an option in the top 2 variants.

I think 446L is more than enough boot space, they could have increased the rear leg space by 3-4 inches by a little compromising the boot space. For regular use I think rear space is more important than the boot space, we can manage with a few Litters less boot space.

1. Why do they offer Automatic Torque Converter in Top variants only ? Why can't they offer TC in all variants including base variants (like Tata). I would have cancelled my Nexon Smart Plus iCNG Booking for Kylaq's Signature Variant if skoda offers AMT/TC with their Signature variant (both variants just above base variant ...... i chose CNG over AMT/TC since no SUV offers both in lower variants)...... 2. Kylaq is best for Indians since our average height is below 5 feet 10 inches. Anybody who is taller than that and going to seat at rear can avoid it and pay more for other brands with less boot and huge rear legroom...... 3. Neither 360 degree camera nor Sunroof are necessary features hence are not deal breakers ...... 4. Bland rear view is not a really big issue and is personal perspective and hence can be adjusted for VFM which kylaq offers ..... 5. I feel Kylaq would be best VFM SUV (for those with on road budget of around 10 to 11 lakh) with powerful turbo engine, ONLY IF, skoda can offer AMT/TC in Kylaq's base variants (Signature and above variants) as well and manage to deliver the base variants without much waiting period for the delivery (unlike Mahindra 3XO MX1) ..... Note:- Skoda on it's website gives details of it's servicing + spare part cost details which I think very few brands provide on their website

The only weak point i see is the rear seat leg room. They should have maybe reduced the boot space a little and increased the leg room. Waiting to check in real, otherwise ticks all the boxes for me.

well legspace depends on wheelbase.. it's 2nd highest in category.. so it's more then other cars .. but lower then only 3xo.. maybe it's platform problem.. as it's boot space is actually same as kausaq.. only if filled till rim it shows 444 liters.. which now most car manufactures are showing.. but legroom should be better then other cars in competion.. which are selling like hotcakes.. i read in teambhp they can only reduce wheelbase and other things would have affected stability of the platform.. and this car should give best driving dynamics in this category.. along with stability and no body roll at high speeds which both 3xo and nexon lack in..

I think simple design will age well. When middle class family buys a car in india, our mindset is it will with us for atleast 10 years minimum. Over 10 years lots of changes would have happened in Car Industry where many features would be obsolete or too much design elements would start to look too funky as our tastes change over time.

Absolutely correct. Rather than giving big boot space they should have increased space for rear passengers. Also agree with you on tail lights. Why they opted such small lights like exter when they had so much space and resources. On that count it seems like a half hearted effort. That may be a deciding factor. We Indians are very very looks concious. Also agree thoroughly with your other observations.

I am into lot of travelling for kids sports events. So I need good boot space and high safety rating. I can compromise a bit for rear passenger space. But I think this solve my purpose. I was leaning towards Honda Elevate (again a no nonsense practical car). But looks like this will save some money. I want to test drive and decide.

I agree that the rear looks a little bland especially with those tiny tail lights ( Exeter vibes as you mention) and doesn't quite match the smart looking front of the vehicle. As you said , it is also a pity that Skoda chose to compromise on leg room in the rear to increase boot space. Passenger comfort should always be given priority while balancing the practical need for luggage room ! That might cost Kylaq - an otherwise competitive car - customers looking for such creature comforts !

I would like to have push button start, cooled ventilated seats and automatic with paddle shifters. I will not pay for electric seats and sunroof. Also, we should get to choose music speakers. They void warranty on after market fitment of speakers, and they don't have upmarket trending systems to install in their showroom or service centres.

Wheelbase of kaylaq shortened then kushaq, it makes it Fun to drive car as soften side suspension doesn't effect stability on high speed because wheelbase shorter. 55 kg lesser weight improve weight/ torque ratio. Now drive ability and steering response better than kushaq and TAIGUN Forget milage experience fun to drive it with torque converter, please avoid it to buy in manual transmission.

I love everything about this car, can even ignore not so attractive looking tail light design (my personal opinion, Kushaq has much better tail ight design, though Kylaq has a bold and better front design) , but yes, I agree instead of going for such a huge boot space in a sub-4 meter vehicle, they could have balanced it with a good rear seat space. A 380-400 liters of boot space with decent leg room in the rear seat would have been a much better approach.

I had needed better legroom comfort and 3xo is have it other than any cars, it has the spacious backseats in this segment... , but boot/dicky space is less comparing to oghers. For 1 week trip also 3XO's dicky space is more than needed for me.. Also the engine is more Powerful and great performance in 3XO. So I opted 3xo.

my opinion is that the boot space is important than the rear seat for a nuclear family in India. The same reason why XUV 300 was not a success that time. And the rear looks I defer with you as its looks very classy and age well. The main shortcoming as per me is the 360 camera

Bhai the problem with all youtuber is they never appreciate the safety rating..... skoda is best and providing every basis thing in base variant with great enginer+great mileage+safe car+good package of service. bhai aur kya chahiye. for everyone knowledge more electronics in car add more service cost in future. this car is one of the best in india right now to buy for middle class family who run only less than 1000km a month
