I love this car. Having a hard time finding a new one here in Melbourne at the moment. The boot is so usable. And the rear seat space is much better than most mid size SUV. And for those who don’t know, VW group sedans are built better than equivalent Vw mid size SUV. Just look how better built German Passat is than Tiguan.

I am big fan of Octavia but now cars like XUV 700 are confusing me. I prefer quality, reliability and class, so for which one I should go? Jeep, XUV 700 Or Octavia? Plz reply @carwale

The answer is no less confusing. Octavia has better quality. Reliability for the XUV700 is unknown (but as with any all-new product, expect glitches and problems for at least the first one year of manufacturing), Octavia will have some of the same issues as many VAG cars have had (lots of forums which can give you a fair idea) and issues with the Compass are known as well. Service experience for known issues are best judged by reading user reviews. The perception of 'class' is a very personal stand and we'll leave it up to you to judge which car has that aura of class you like. *Mod note: Personally, the Skoda Octavia meets these criteria the best - though it doesn't feel as VFM as the others.

Considering the fact the AUDI A4 shares the same engine, it makes the Octy bang for buck

That is not enough to make it value for money. It lacks both features and space as compared to the SUVs it goes up against.

@@CarWale disagree on this. Vfm is a very personal thing and is based on selective perception. I don't think that a xuv700 at 30 lacs is vfm or a compass with a boot space like my ecosport and full of rattles is vfm!!! Then the Might Fortuner at 55 lacs!! Is that vfm??? Seltos n Creta have features but unstable body structure. These are vfm!! U add 10 lacs more and get a better car, European and above all an exception engine with a new Dq381 now!!!

I feel the Indian customer has been shortchanged by Scoda and surprisingly it was not highlighted in the review. I feel the review was biased due to the following reasons:- First, the world premiere of the car was in 2019 and forget about getting some India specific enhancements, all features have not been introduced in India inspite of 2 years past. Secondly, in a premium car like octavia, hardly any driver assisist features. Thirdly, No ventilated seats and sun roof, which is being offered in Scoda cars in the lower segment.
