You really want to make sure none of your tools have exposed metal parts near the business end. It only takes one wrong move and you scratch the paint, which is more likely on door jams and other interior body parts with much thinner clear coat (if any), including engine bays. Done that even though I'm careful. Luckily it was my own car. I was in a hurry and used a different hose trigger that I normally use for door jams, it has a "rounded" spray adjustment which is metal. Didn't dig deep but the color comes off really easily.

Nice! The engine bay looks nearly nre! I would recommend you you to use a water based or gel shine, it isn't as messy

Is this even safe, just to wash your engine bay without disconnecting or isolating eletronics?

It is a simple diesel engine. It is unlikely that something will happen, with gasoline engines you need to be careful

With some consideration, it is. Think driving in heavy rain, there's a lot of moisture that gets everywhere. One wouldn't drive through a river without a specially prepared vehicle though, so similarly I always protect some components so I don't put that much water in them.
