Hi Sam, good and balanced analysis. Have had Enyaq 80X (AWD version) for 1 year and 30,000 km. Chose this over Y, due to my own practical needs. Family crosower, normal doors and practically designed bodywork, option to choose a wool fabric (doesn't like leather). Dependent on AWD (6 months of winter here), skiing, fishing and cycling hobby, likes cars with roof rails. Ground clearance and good suspension comfort, drives on new uneven roads. The Enyaq was the one that functionally resembled my previous cars last year, the Passat Alltrack and the Audi A6 Quattro avant. If I didn't need AWD and didn't care about sports car performance, but needed a simple BEV (minor fault?), safe, comfortable, functional family crossover and have few long trips over 40 mi, I could probably be just as happy with 50, like the 80 version.

I have enyaq 60 for less than a year and have driven more than 30k. Love the car. Now I'm looking for a second car and tesla is an option. But purchasing price is not the only thing to consider. Enyaq was sold out and waiting time was about 2 years, but now they expanded production and can offer a cheaper version. In Germany, you have only short ways to go and fast chargers are available everywhere. So for someone with a need for a big car and does not want the service that Tesla offers, the Enyaq is the better joice. Germans never buy the cheapest car, we want quality.

I have an Enyaq iV60, and it IS an extremely well-rounded family EV... inside it is huge, smooth, quiet, has enough power for 0-60 in 7 seconds, load sof clever features - typical Skoda. They down-spec them a bit, to sell optional upgrades, then before you know it the price has crept up. Only problem I ever had was with old software version, but since the upgrsde it's been fine. I have the iV60 and I can get 200 miles in perfect weather and non-motorway driving, otherwise about 180 miles when it's cold. Motorway driving will drop this by 20% just like any EV. A 50Kwh battery would give probably 160 miles real-world imo. I think this is the wrong car for a 50Kwh battery and lower-performance motor... yes an ID3 perhaps, but not this one, it's tooo big/heavy for that. This is just marketing, it's not well tought-out... they need a smaller EV SUV like the Skoda KamiQ to put this combo in.

Bully for them, what are the real needs? Tesla's strategy of designing their cars to outperform ICE vehicles was brilliant, but now we have millions of overpowered vehicles carrying around extra copper and rare metals, and in danger of plunging all the way through the store you were parking in front of when you hit the wrong pedal. I always drive in Chill mode, and it should be the default. The first car I drove was my Mom's Rambler American, got it up to 90 once. I hope the new cheaper Teslas aren't rockets. It's occasionally fun but also gets people in trouble, and we really don't need to be paying for all that as a default.

No one can answer that. No one can answer either how long engine last because nothing is similar. Just watched a video there was Tesla battery 600 000 km driven then it broke but it was still possible to repair. When battery dies, if it happens during warranty which most has 8 year/160 000 km it will be fixed for free. It it broke after that usually it can be repaired. If you EV needs battery replacement there for sure are 2nd hand batteries which are much more cheaper but most likely you can get new also which cost more.

I have an iv80. Nice car in the sense that indeed mechanical it is very desent. BUT, software ain't great, and Skoda isn't really showing that they are on top of that. A 50kW battery only makes sense if the weight of the car drastically is reduced, but that seems not the case, so don't think it is a match with Tesla Y. Advice to VW and Skoda, get your software stuff together, bring relevant software updates to users, use higher density batteries and reduce weight of the car.

Its still built on the VW platform so its a failure no matter how you cut it.

Except nothing wrong with MEB platform and after new rear motor APP550 it will be even better. Tesla hard chassis is not even close to same comfort that MEB offers.

@@mr.wizeguy8995 I know 3 people that bought VW and they all got rid of them in less than a year. The software is crap. 25% of the time they could not get their cars to charge. Even at home. What good is a car with a little cushier ride if you cannot trust it to go anywhere???

@@mr.wizeguy8995 EV's are not just an electrified car. They are computers on wheels. And a computer with software problems? Is just about useless.

@@davefroman4700 Except EV is like normal car you don't need to touch infotainment at all to drive it. Looks like you don't even know what platform means. MEB platform doesn't include infotainment it's a different part in car. Example Audi uses MEB platform but they have their own infotainment. Computer with software problems isn't never useless you just need to update software to get it working. Tesla has doing stuff over 10 year and they still have lots of software issues.

@@mr.wizeguy8995 Im not talking about the rest of the buggy issues. The entire drive train package is buggy. If you had a car that you went to fill up and 20-25% of the time you could not get the door open to the filler, which the manufacturer not only does not know how to fix? But has fired the entire division that programmed it in the first place? How confident would you be in your purchase? EVERYTHING about an electric drive train is controlled by the computer. The charging, the regen, the power supplied, the torque you name it. Their issue is they have a bunch of farmed out proprietary pieces that do not talk to each other properly. And the suppliers do not want to give access to their code.

These Enyaqs are too big and bulky. Surely by now, they should have a smaller car on the market? They bring out the latest fad models that are just prototypes anyway. So should Tesla of course.

Sam I like your videos and will keep watching them, but for God's sake can you take your blinkers off and see the world outside of Tesla. No car is perfect and yet I have never heard you say anything other than praise for Tesla. It is well known that their build quality leaves a lot to be desired and yet you have never uttered a word about that, are you on their payroll?
