Hi guys, in my opinion, this review was the best review of the Slavia from a common man's perspective. Basically, any middle-class family wants a reliable, tension-free vehicle. In today's world of SUVs and MUVs, I think the Slavia is a much better option, offering a mix of both, especially for those looking for a comfortable vehicle for long drives. No vehicle can offer better comfort than a sedan, and this one has good ground clearance and ample luggage space. And if anyone from Skoda or VW is reading this, please make sure you focus on good ground clearance for upcoming sedans and, please, please focus on 4-cylinder engines!. Your 1 liter 3 cylinder engine don't feel that good.

Lower body roll compared to Slavia Advantages of Slavia over superb - 1. Higher ground clearance of 179 MM compared to 155-160 of Superb 2. You will get required power for Indian highways / hills etc if you are going for 1.5 DSG 3. If you are considering 1.0 L, it will keep you happy in city and most of the highways, you may feel a lag while taking it to hill with full load 3. No issue with spares as it is a new car and sold in higher numbers 4. Build quality is still better than hundai/Maruti after indianiazation too. Hi buddy, which would be more comfortable for long trips sedan or a compact suv? And why
@Travidiction Жыл бұрын
I have experienced Sedan to be more comfortable on highways & ghats during long drives! Majorly - since you are seated low in Sedans, due to lower center of gravity you feel lesser body roll. If you have travelled in bus and realize how it drifts when bus takes a fast turn - This is due to seating height. However while making decision for car, take into consideration the length (parking space constraints), how frequent is the need for you to travel in bad roads, boot space, flexibility to take taller items in boot etc

@Travidiction Жыл бұрын
Between Automatic and Manual - My personal opinion is Manual should be more reliable in longer run. As, it is a dry clutch system in Slavia AT. Previously VW gearbox had issues with dry clutch system, I am sure that for any issue during the warranty period company will take care. However, in longer run for any type of transmission failure, you have to pay for it. Now advantage of AT is in traffic, so if you have more of highway drive, you can take similar experience like AT in cruise control mode. And in same budget you can upgrade to 1.5 MT.

Are interiors of low quality/flimsy like lots of people have complained? Does auto start/stop keep stopping cars at low speeds? Does the auto start/stop feature stay turned off if we do it once, or it turns on automatically?
@Travidiction Жыл бұрын
1. Few parts of dash is flimsy compared to old Skodas / VWs. 2. Auto start stop - Only stops the car when I make a complete halt in neutral and at least one of the brakes are applied 3. Whenever we press clutch (mine is MT) it starts back automatically. 4. There are scenarios which are mandatory for this feature to stop your car - Like battery voltage, cabin temperature etc. So if we are in a red signal of say 180 seconds, the car may automatically start and stop depending on the prerequisite thresholds.

Did you consider Honda City? Any thoughts on City ZX CVT vs. Slavia 1.5 DSG?
@Travidiction2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I did not consider Honda City due to low GC between City and Slavia - 1. City is good for city. 2. Comfort wise - City will keep you more comfortable in low speed / bad roads. But at the same time it lags ventilated seats which keeps driver comfortable in long drive 3. Power delivery - Slavia is of a different league and I was very happy on the entire ladakh trip. 4. Mileage - I have 1.5 MT that gave me A) ~ 13kmpl in hills without AC at ladakh B) Highway mileage was around 17-18 with AC C) In city traffic slavia gave around 8 So, in short City will be a good pick if you are restricted to city drive as 1.5 naturally aspirated engine is a good one plus you will get good mileage compared to Slavia. But if you are a highway traveller then Slavia will keep you happy due to high ground clearance on bad roads and also it is very powerful which will help you in overtakes.

I was comparing this particular Sedan with Kushaq (my final shortlisted compact SUV). It's 90-95% over there. Till now I have done around 3,900 km and last week did a night drive to Shirdi on really bad patch of Nashik highway, after going through the water filled potholes of Godhbandar road with 5 passengers and full luggage. Even I have put my bet on it, taking it to Leh/Pangong/Umling La this August, let's see how the ingress angle is managed to take care of it. Multiple Goa trips was on my i20. But till now tested Slavia on - 1. Ganpatipule (NH66) - no issues 2. Igatpuri, about 2 km was a stretch where there was no roads - 1 Belly scrapping on a really bad bump as there were 5 passengers 3. Multiple trips to Nashik /Pune / Lonavla If my budget would have been around 40 +, I would have definitely tried Volvo XC 40 / Tiguan / Compass. Since most of my travel is in Tarmac so I preferred this over Kushaq. Complete personal opinion and decision made depending on requirements and budget.
