I could relate this short film because my ex gf was Arabic and she's my first love, we spend more than two years each other and we had so much memories. I have to understand her culture and what her family wants for her life. I let her go two years ago and my heart still broken piece by piece 💔🥺 i loved her so much and still ... i always wanted her to be with me for the rest of my life but we're too different from each other and things difficult between us. Now we are pretty far away from each other and I'm still on process of moving on ...i just think we're not meant to be each other and it was a very painful and beautiful experience of me, for her and to everyone of us who had the same situations. 🥺❤️

My ex wasn’t Arabic, but she grew up in a strict Christian family. So I understand you completely. It broke my heart to lose her. She was herself when she was with me. But the pressure of living up to what her family wanted meant that she now lives halfway across the country and is married to a man. I always hope that she is happy though.

I actually wasn't surprised when she admitted the truth about her life. I think most people in western society forget or are unaware of how dangerous and controlling life can be for women, and those in the LGBT community. It's really sad and not right to have to hide who you are just to be able to live and breathe in your own society, but her choices are completely understandable.

I have to keep saying to my family the risk gays and lesbians take when coming out in other countries. How they could face either imprisonment or death if they do come out. Hopefully it will get to a place when people realize you can't force someone to live the way you want them to.
