Started listening to skunk when I was about 14- im 38 now and I still love this band but when you listen to them when youre older and been through a lot more shit than you have when you were a teen then the songs, the words take on a whole new meaning, a whole new life..... And what a beautiful voice! She can have such an angelic voice one minute then really raw the next. Shes got one of those voices I will never forget. Whenever anyone asks which female singers have the best voices its Skunk, Anastasia, Alanis Moirsette, Stevie Nicks, Kate Bush and the woman from Evanessance. Any body think of any more amazing women singers let me know....

Skin has such an amazing voice. Her raw power and control were practically unheard of then and just as much as now, and her note choices keep you hanging on every pass. She can put your jaw on the floor for most of the song and *still* have something new to amaze you with for the big finish. She defines the term "singular talent."

That's not entirely true. While opera singers do typically perform without microphones, that's only when they are in actual opera houses. Those buildings are specifically designed to carry sound. In other types of venues (arenas, outdoor stages, stadiums etc.) opera singers would need microphones too. Rock vocalists like Skin and Freddie Mercury truly did hold their own with their opera singer partners. That said, both Skin and Freddie are very rare among rock singers to wield that kind of power and talent.
