First, for all of us who are lead to believe that electric cars don't use horsepower, that's actually not 100% accurate. All it takes is a unit conversion. I researched this car and the website stated 180kw - 200kw which is 241hp - 268hp which can do 0-100km/h in 4.6s. However the one reviewed (as stated in the vlog) is supposedly 300kw. 100kw from front motor and 200kw from the rear motor, which is a total of 402hp. So all vehicles, whether electric, PHEV, HEV, petrol, diesel and hydrogen, can be measured in kw of hp. It just a unit of measurement like cm and inch. Example, South Africa uses Kw (kilowatts) as their power unit of measure regardless of the powertrain. Herr in Germany, we use PS and as y'all know, hp. But mainly, I enjoyed this vlog. Loving that Jamaica is heading in a cleaner, more environmentally friendly way of travelling. It's just the start, and I hope it's far from the end. Jamaica's can really benefit from less noise and less emissions. Keep it up Nick. Let the world see that Jamaica's car scene is also growing in the EV market as well. Get the Tesla next. Then you'll feel EV power.

@@terryspenardiceberg not their fault. The manufacturers use kw as their default measurement for EVs, however on some adds, they might show the hp conversion. Even so, he should have also stated the hp equivalent because not everyone will know what kilowatt is. But considering it's the first EV review, it was quite enjoyable to watch.

would have loved to hear you telling about the distance it covers when fully charged, as well as give a brief idea of what the current cost of charging is on the JPS current rates at home vs fast charger (and fast charger time). What many people wont understand is that thought the cost is said to be around 7million, the cost to maintain it will be so low that the average person who could not afford a 7m gas car would be able to afford this one.

What would be good for the jamaican economy and the people is for BYD to set up an assembly plant on the island with the longer term plan to build a manufacturing plant. There was discussion with Jamaica and China some time ago for an assembly plant to be built in Spanish town by the waste land but nothing became if it. Maybe the numbers for the brand/Manufacturer (not sure which one) never stacked up. I pray for the day that could happen. Either a Chinese or Tata from India could be the first of two or three. Wouldn't that be awesome. I love Jamaica 🇯🇲 🇬🇧👊🏾🙏🏾

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Laughing aside, nah lie Nick, this mad. Respect to James and the fam for this feature to be possible. This is an interesting vehicle for sure. It looks comfy and it goes like sting! I'm one of many who's a bit apprehensive towards full EVs (I prefer plug in hybrids), but this is a good start and I would prefer something like this over a Tesla, quite honestly, but a smaller model. Loving that rotating infotainment screen. I'd like to see how much it would cost to charge one of these at the charging stations-that might get a lot of ppl to buy into it more (over time I feel either Stewarts or their customer base will shed some light). For persons with a house, its better for them because they can install solar/wind systems to augment the charging needs. Easier than an apartment.

Not fully committed to EVs just yet, a used 2020 Toyota Prius Prime or even a 2019 Chevy Volt would be nice for me right ya now. One BIG reason is JPS, they are a big drag on Jamaica. The other reason is range, with a Prius Prime or Volt one can easily engage the ICE and continue going your merry way until you either reach home or get to a charging station.
