What a great video! One more LED for our collection. That must be the best light in the world, right? They just can't stop comparing their new Christmas lights with the best lights in existence. To Neptune: please don't compare any LEDs with Halides and T5s. That is an old trick that many of us are starting to understand. Try to compare to other LEDs and that will be more acceptable! I like the music! It projects my mind to believe this is the end of the story... ... until your updates come next year!

Idk I feel Ecotech and Kessil is way more innovative then Neptune. These lights are like a rip off of Phillips lights tech with Ecotech shell. The frame, mounting holes, fans, tank mounts look exactly the same as Radions!!!

@@jasony816 yeah, well I still went with a G5 when I was putting together my new tank - I figured it wasn't likely Neptune would "hit it out of the park" on the first try. Ecotech has had generations to develop the products they are currently offering. Just wish the G5s still played nice in the Apex ecosystem. Getting rid of Mobius and moving entirely over to the Apex system would also be part of the appeal. How similar is the Sky to the Coralcare product that Phillips offered? Is this basically the same light with a Neptune logo?

@@jasoncolliver3648 I got Radion G5 for my new setup as well as I not into the whole Neptune monopoly. If you look at the Coralcares its basically the same tech and leds and even the "4 clear lense for the shimmer" is the same, they just put a radion shell over it with fans instead of passive cooling.

This is why I’m not a big fan of Neptune, they just seem to want to copy or takeover and call it their own. Not a bad business model but come on people are not stupid. I like Apex when it first came out when they where called aqua controller but then I feel they didn’t change much really just got alittle more fancy UI.

BRS has a shadowing demo in progress for various lights. The buzz is that this light even beats T5s in terms of spread and less shadowing.

@@stephenmarkowiak418 BRS publishes to sell what they want. T5s have real UV and the spectrum is much richer than any LED. Plus... with the right fixture, you get the right amount of PAR and spectrum without absolutely any problems changing bulbs. Easiest best lights for tanks up to 24" tall ever!!! You can grow any coral with T5s. The qualities of light from a good t5 system are excellent!

Neptune has really gone downhill, especially with the cheap parts they use and the service they provide. They only have one service tech Kyle and his job is to up-sell you. They are the only company I know who tells you that their system will probably fail somewhere between 18-24 months and you need to send them more money to keep it going so they can charge you $200.00 to replace some tubing and a small pump from China. So glad to now go with Hydros. The product and parts are so much more advanced they Neptune.

What was missing from halides? "POP"? Is that all you can think about T5s? What a joke!!!!!! This video is the worse LED propaganda I've ever seen! People can't take this LED stuff anymore! So much money invested to stack them up in the garage with so many upgrades and hype every year!!! Just get some halides and/or T5s and you will have fixtures that will last longer than your life time! Quality of light isn't related to apps or any other features, much less to what any LED can provide over a reef system! Unless you like "POP". I'm waiting for a legit answer form ANY of the LED manufacturers in regards to what was missing from either halides or T5s in terms of actual QUALITY of light for a reef system to provide health.

Ecotech hasn’t wanted to work with Neptune for years. ECOTECH stopped allowing vortechs, vectras and radions to work on Apex controllers. SKY is using the same mounting hole spacing. So of course the mounts they use look like ripoffs, they are actual Ecotech mounts. This allows people that had Radions to switch over without changing their mounts they already own.

The main thing I don't agree is the way LED companies compare their products with halides and T5s. I also don't like the hype, but you guys need to sell. I get that! They are totally different by nature and will provide different results. The fact that we have LEDs for sale in the aquarium industry is acceptable for many reasons, but none of them are actually better than halides nor T5s, period! They are just different and will project different results. Perfectly acceptable to use them as a combo. The 3 types are physically impossible to substitute each other. Application is what dictates what should be the best light for each system and everyone should be able to choose. Diminishing halides to promote LEDs is a poor way to advertise IMO! The 3 choices should be respected! I call that marketing strategy, propaganda (information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view). Comparing LEDs to LEDs or even the sky would be more professional IMO. By the way: T5s are what you guys are actually trying to mimic, because that is what T5s do: they mimic the sky light. That is what newer LEDs have been suggesting lately, to try to mimic T5s as much as they can. I'm glad you've read my comments! I wish I could use your product as an example in that matter, but you followed the lines of other brands who used halides and T5s to step up that way. That's a shame!
