She definitely benefits greatly from how the Technical Damage was changed, making Nuclear really good, especially when paired with her Persona Trait making setting up Technical Damage easier. And obviously she’s perfect for Kaneshiro’s Palace, same as how Yusuke is great against Madarame, and Haru for Okumura.

She's one of the more fleshed out characters in the game, mostly due to the fact that unlike the rest of the cast the person she outwardly projects is a total polar opposite to who she really is on the inside. She's like FF7's Tifa in that respect she plays the tough chick full of confidence while in reality she's emotionally timid and self conscious

I do like her Showtime with Ryuji and she's definitely got one of the best idle combat poses. The way she jumps up and down is hella cool. I just didn't use her much after the palace she debuted in. There's nothing that really called out to me to use her. My make-up was OT3, Akira/Ann/Ryuji line up and then I subbed in Haru until I got Akechi, then it became Akira/Ann/Akechi/Haru. Ann has saved my skin so many times with the distractions/stepping in to knock them down when I don't and the buffs she provides. Plus damage and sleep. Ryuji offers godly dps for phys and shock comes in clutch at times. Plus hearing him shout is just hilarious to me. Haru has the triple gun move which has been absolutely needed for me. Admittedly her other skills aren't fantastic but that one skill alone has me keeping her in, plus she can remove ailments. Akechi is self explanatory. It's Akechi...

The best part about Makoto (dating) for me was, when you took her to the Arcade and showed her how to use a light gun, she squeals because of how difficult the game is, and it attracts a crowd, likely 'cause they're not used to seeing a girl playing arcade games. 😁 It was a Nice touch!

She pairs well with literally all the party members you get before her except Morgana, since she'll improve the other threes' spells while enjoying all 4 other party Persona traits. The only comp I don't see her having use on is Solo-Joker comp, for obvious reasons.

Makoto was always my favorite character but I still think she had greater potential. She didn’t hit as hard as Ryuji and also later in the game you couldn’t use her that much cause everyone had Nuke resistance too. She worked great with Ann with burn+nuke combo if I remember and it was quite nice cause on my last playthrough I’ve really committed to Ann and found out her Fire damage can reach crazy caps. Makoto had great defense skills though. I wish characters were maybe a little more versatile and could be directed by the player a little more regarding their development. Still one of my all time favorite games ❤

Sunday jazz club. Or just the jazz club in general. You can give them permanent stat boosts (that reaches through NG+ cycles) in most cases. And during sundays, you can give them a random skill. It's definetly not spelled out that it's an option and it's only really there for people who plan on running 3+ NG+ cycles, but if you want it, it's there.

Best thing about Makoto is that she's a speed demon. like seriously I'm currently running with level 50 Athena Picaro as my main persona and Makoto still act first. That on top of her Marakukaja made her essential in surviving harsh fight. She basically let your team start with auto-maraku (unless you have persona with Auto-maraku ofc)

Makoto's abilities are genuinely some of the best in the game imo. Very high damage dealer, her trait makes it easier to execute technicals, she has Mass Debilitate after her Third Awakening, and she ends up being a better healer than both Morgana and Ann. You can put her on just about any team arrangement and you'll get your team out alive and well, but my personal favorite setup is Makoto, Ryuji, and Yusuke for ice and shock Technicals galore. In the Azathoth bossfight, I always swapped out Ryuji and Yusuke for other people, but NEVER Makoto. She's a very powerful character; Don't overlook her.

instead of using a team comp, i just used my fav character. early game team: Ryuji, Makoto, Ann final team: Yoshizawa, Ryuji, Akechi i would use akechi and yoshizawa but you cant get em early game. i never used morgana and i never seen yusuke or haru confidants entire game.

My team usually consists of Ryuji, Morgana and Makoto. Ryuji for Shock and Ring of lust for some healing. Morgana for primary healing and the occasional crit Makoto to take advantage of Ryuji's shock. The other team mates are usually too conditional to rely on, and the star confidant is so powerful when your current team is exposed to some weakness.

I never really bothered to use Makoto in any of my runs until my last one where I decided to use a team that isn’t my normal team. Using her, Yusuke and Ryuji instead of my normal Haru, Ann, Mona set up was a different experience. I do still prefer having Haru because Psy technical is more reliable than Nuke tech and very few things can stand up to her One Shot Kill (it dealt 5K damage to Yaldabaoth. **5K**) but I might end up actually swapping Mona for Makoto in my regular team. Ann isn’t going anywhere though, non negotiable, she’s simply too strong.

I feel that the best combo for Sae's palace and onwards has to be Makoto, Haru, and either Ann, Ryuji, Yusuke, or Akechi depending on three factors: 1 - What's your build? If you're physical and gun build, Ann makes up for a secondary heal and Magic or Akechi for an all rounder. If you're mainly magic, then having Ryuji or Yusuke for physical, but Yusuke should have Charge(from Sunday Bar). 2 - Which Palace? Ann and Akechi are better for Sae and Maruki, while Ryuji and Yusuke are better for Shido and Mementos/Depth. 3 - What is your level with each social? Ryuji having charge or Ann having concentrated makes them have higher priority for damage while Third Awakening of Yusuke and Akechi have strong skills. So my team is always: Joker - Magic or Physical Makoto - Technical and Healing Haru - High Damage and Protection/De-status Fourth member - Ryuji and Yusuke(if magic build) or Ann and Akechi(if physical build)

Yeah Makoto is a cool character but her personality contradicted a lot about her, so upon getting her persona, we figure out shes the "she's scary when she's angry" trope, but when it came to the scene of being in Futaba's house she's a total scaredy cat making me think the tough girl bit is just a front, because I'm like if Makoto used any of that power girl personality in the story where it counted she could've put her sister in check a long time ago. So it just felt off to make her this aggressive "I take shit from no one" character but hardly goes anywhere with it
