I have the same problem with the base cards here as I do Contenders and Chronicles. Too busy, too gimmicky and I prefer the simple clean Optic style. The Kabooms are the only reason I take interest in this series.

The thing with "case hits" is they are just on average for the entire run. For all we know they make mega special cases that every single box has a kaboom and then they can have 20 cases that have 0 kabooms and they still average out to 1 per case.

A case of hobby boxes is around $8k, with 1 Kaboom per case. A case of blasters is around $700 so, I’d bet there is 1 Kaboom per 10-12 cases of blasters or, 1 Kaboom per 200-240 blaster boxes.

This is probably the worst product of 2023. If you dont pull a kaboom it’s not worth it.

The sad part is that I ripped a ton of 2022 Absolute Gravity Packs last year (you know, the ones that sell for $1.25 at Family Dollar) and those were 20x better than those blasters. I pulled a numbered Kenny Picket that sold for $35 (back when Pickett was valuable) a numbered Brock Purdy that sold for $40, along with a numbered Kyler Murray and Lamar Jackson that fetched a little money. Those gravity packs from Family Dollar have the exclusive Yellow Parallels and I pulled a lot of Yellow Parallels of big name rookies that I was able to sell for a few bucks. Each pack costs $1.25, has 5 cards and guarantees that you pull 1 rookie and 1 yellow parallel. And then you can get lucky and pull the numbered cards. I would take those all day over what I just watched. Sadly though, the 2023 gravity packs don’t seem to be quite as good as the 2022s when it comes to pulling numbered cards or inserts. You still get a guaranteed rookie and yellow parallel though

Just starting back in the hobby as my g-pa just passed and left me his 60-75 MLB collection. I sold off my 90s collection years ago. Fun to see how everything has changed since I was a kid. I also like how easy it is to get grades now. I sent off some 70's Nolan Ryan's last week. It was so hard to get stuff graded 30 years ago. Kids don't understand. They exist in retail. I’ve been lucky enough to pull a herbie from a blaster in 2020 and a Deebo from a blaster in 2022. Never found any in 2021 on the shelves but that herbie was the one and only box I ripped in ‘20

I’ve ripped 50 blasters so far. So far 2 kabooms and 1 explosive. Kabooms were Matthew Stafford and Josh Jacob. Explosive is Geno Smith. Also pulled a /20 Puca auto as well! So that was a bonus! These all came from target online so they were all random. Think that’s the best route since a case isn’t guaranteed.

Pretty sure Kabooms are not guaranteed in anything other than hobby cases. It’s a chase, but not guaranteed in retail. At least from my experience. Rough opening a case and not hitting one for sure
