I had the Bebop 1&2 with both sky controllers. I never made it more than 3,000ft with those things in urban areas. And at that time I loved my Bebops. It wasn’t until I got a Mavic that I learned what urban range was 🛩💫

+hav eric It fly's pretty darn awesome and is so cool with the sky controller and HDMI compatible goggles connected! I took it out in 30+ Mph winds on the coast and it handled it like a charm. I'll have a bunch of vids and flight tests up soon :)

Hi Dustin. I'm a big fan of your channel and most of Parrot's products, especially the Bebop 2 my favorite. I revisited this video and have a Bebop 2 range observation to make for when using the larger jet cockpit version Skycontroller 2. In your video and steps to link, you first linked the Bebop 2 to your phone's wifi. However, for better reception and range I believe a better connection that would max range and picture quality would be to first connect the bebop 2 to SC2's dish and wifi (SC2's lights confirm link) and then second, connect phone to SC2's wifi. That way wifi from the Bebop 2 goes to controller's dish first and then wifi from controller goes to the phone second. This sequence should lock in a much stronger Parrot specific wifi setting for max range and better picture. What do you think? It's probably been awhile since you brought out the Bebop 2, but have you tried this linkage sequence to see if there's less interference and better range and picture quality? Thanks.

Wow ... that must have taken forever to upload! Might be your longest review/unboxing? Definitely a steep learning curve on this guy. It will be interesting to see how it lives up to all that stuff in actual flights. I'm still skeptical of 25 min. on a 2700mah battery, but we'll see. I will also be interested to see what the video looks like with no gimbal. The Git2 has gyro stabilization, but you can only go so far with that, and if you turn on the gyro stab., you get a cropped video that is lacking in sharpness .. at least on the Git2. (which is why I never use the gyro .. that's what my gimbal is for). Anyway, looking forward to the "further adventures" of this "Be-Bop" .. and will stay tuned to see what develops. Cheers!

Yes. The Bebop 2 has this kludgy and somewhat confusing firmware update process. What should be a straightforward process is confused by Parrots failure to build in a "progress" or "notification" process when it's done updating. This product just leaves you staring at it and gives absolutely no indication that it has either successfully or unsuccessfully completed it's firmware update. And to make it worse, the instructions warn under no circumstances are you to remove the battery during this process. But just like he says in this video, you really have no choice. I too had to remove the battery to get this thing to respond in any fashion that allowed you to see that the update had, in fact, completed. Nonetheless. this is a fantastic product.

Those controls on the left that you say don't work and that you can't figure out why. They are, by default, devoted to FPV. So no surprise that there is no action associated with them when the FPV is not attached. Likely not a great idea to reassign actions for anyone who may add an FPV.

Just wondering, will the skycontroller 2 work with my Parrot bebop 2 drone? It came with a skycontroller (one I assume) in the box, but the thing is I'm going overseas in a couple of weeks and that thing is WAY too bulky. it's very sturdy material. but it's not uncrackable. my fell out of the sky at around 60 ft up and the battery exploded on impact, cracked the battery compartment thing, cracked the cross section and snapped one of the motor mounts clean off.. :( basically totaled it out as it will take about 170 to fix it, give or take..

No. Only the SC1 (big original) has the HDMI out to connect directly to the HDMI input of headplays. Otherwise you'll need an extra HDMI out port on your smart phone/tablet with SC2. So you connect it as normal to phone/tablet, then use your device HDMI out to connect to headplays 🍻

For me the take off button does not work. I need to do it on the tablet screen. Also, no lights except one taillight is no excuse. YT is full of lights add on for this drone and I can't operate it in some conditions like that (like my night footage). No "follow me" integrated option is another flaw. Once can except the features I mentioned above as standard, After-all this is well established company. Wired they do some features above expectations but forget basics...

It flys little faster with skycontroller than 40mph and you can get 4800 batt get about 8 to 10 m I'm n more flight time out of it about 35min and camera is designed to have alot better images on video & photos in low light conditions where bebop one video was terrible in low light but not this one much better.

Lakezyz It depends on what you plan to do with it, man. they have some similar features going on, but they aren't really in the same category. I had a Phantom 3 Advanced, and the camera is spectacular. There is no comparison between the two in that regard. But I'll be totally honest. For the kind of fun flying that I prefer doing and just general selfie style photography and FPV exploration when I'm off roading, the Bebop is a better fit for me.
