I had to back these months later and let you know someone must be listening to you. I just got my Skyhunter from Banggood in. It looks like they watched your video and took your suggestion on the vertical stab, they added an additional piece of carbon in the kit and instructions on how to install it. They also have added a a piece of plywood to stick the bottom, it has slots for battery straps. Great video as always.

Good to hear about the improvements, but I doubt it was my doing. It's certainly an impressive airframe anyway.
@alasdair41617 жыл бұрын
Wow, I'm most amazed that yours turned up in such good condition, every single plane I've ever received from Banggood has been damaged by a total lack of shipping protection. I now source them (with actual free shipping) elsewhere and the old crushed and minced days are gone. Best of luck with the maiden, we're really copping it weather wise..

Hi Andrew, nice concise video of the "unboxing" and build titbits. It may be useful if you alluded to the types of glues you used on the various components. Take care of the launch not to get your hand near that "mighty" prop!! As mentioned already, I think you'll like the plane...

Yes good point. For this build I used Selleys Clear Qwik Grip everywhere.

Hi Andrew, At 4:22 you show a carbon tube to be glued into the wing... Is that correct? I'm about to buy a Skyhunter and jumped onto the RCG thread for this plane and not seen anything about the tubes to be glued in??? It would be good if it is the case...??? Unlike the stupid idea of making all of the boom brackets the same! As ever, thanks for the video....:-)

Yes wing spars do have to be glued in, then the main spar slides inside. Those clamps are odd but they work

Wow....that Fuz is huge....no problems getting your gear inside there Andrew....The omission of Rudders is a bit strange for a plane of this size. Rudders are used to maintain heading via the Autopilot. My Skywalker 1900 uses a 10 x 6 Cam prop and it has acres of spare power on 4S, this massive folder seems OTT...?

Hi Andrew. Do you know Anaconda from Readymade? I ask him because it is similar to the Skyhunter, much more expensive but little information I find about it in videos or forums. I want to start a new fpv project, but the Skyhunter's tail does not convince me because of how fragile it is.

@AndrewNewton6 жыл бұрын
You can buy planes that come with a radio. Look for RTF or Ready To Fly, but they are always very basic radios. Best possible first radio is the Taranis Q X7 with an X6R or X8R reciever. That will set you up for life. Cheaper option would be FlySKY i6X. Other people will tell you Spektrum radios are the way to go but they are way too expensive for me.

Yes the tail is just clamped on so can be moved. I think I'll move it forward a fair bit so it fits on the car without having to pull apart. Tail doesn't need to be that long

Great plane and a nice video edit of the process! Thanks, Andrew! I wander, almost all my planes are of EPP (Elapor. I have planes from Multiplex) and they all seems to have hinge problem, specially after many hours ware and tare. I noticed on the FunCub XL, the elevator was getting pretty loose, so I used hot glue, very little, and used the hot snout of the iron avter aplying it. A little bit stiff, but it works. You didn't show your way of strengthen the hinges, but can you prove of the method using hotsnot?
@AndrewNewton7 жыл бұрын
I do use a thin smear of hot glue sometimes but just tape usually. Nothing with this plane yet.

Andrew... I was thinking to myself... I bet Andrew wished it shipped with a foam box, he could of had a two for one airplane... lol. That would have made another good video. I was glued to the tube over the Boxler, that was a cool video too. Sorry for getting off topic, the Skyhunter looks interesting. I am hoping the weather clears up to see that airplane fly. Thanks for sharing and I know there is a lot of work that goes into making those videos, I appreciate your time put fourth. Terry
