If you are going to be off roading you will be better off leaving the 31's on. You now have the clearance you need for flex at the fender. 33'S ARE NOT GOING TO LEAVE YOU MUCH CLEARANCE. If you have the 4.2- 6cyl the 33's are going to make it a slug.

I agree. However, if it becomes an issue, I will install a 1" body lift. Or, I may just go with 32x11.50 tires. The rebuild of the axles I did involved a gear change from 3.31 to 4.10. Not gonna have any issues regarding sluggishness. It actually needs the larger tires now to compensate for the dramatic improvement made from the gear ratio change.😂

I'm about to do a 2.5 inch lift on my 82 CJ5, and I'm shopping for boomerang greasable shackles. Are you happy with the 1/2 inch shackle lift, or would you go to 3/4 or something?

I like the 1/2” lift greaseable shackles. I had taller ones on before, but it adversely affected steering stability.
