Oh my gosh! I had the same exact thing happen to me on an e-bike! I had it on pedal assist, and was on a bike path that was paved. It parallels a busy road. I slowed to take a corner, but had to start pedaling again to get into the turn and the pedal assist took over and I flew off the bike path and into the street where I fell over in the middle of the road, pinned under the bike! Thank GOD, Almighty, that the cars were stopped at a red light, so I didn't get in the way of traffic. A man sitting at the red light got out and assisted me out from under the bike. He commented on how fortunate I was that the traffic wasn't in green light mode. My knees and elbows were pretty banged up, and I broke a couple of parts on my husband's bike. Lesson learned. I bought a 7 speed bicycle that I power using my legs. No more e-bike for me! However, my husband is trying to talk me into an e-trike. I might consider that if I don't use pedal assist. That park looks very nice, btw. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay, there.

Sorry about your wife’s bike fall. Airing down the tires sometimes help when you venture into the dirt.

I think it was more of the power assist kicking in at the wrong time for her - that, and getting more time on it to get used to it.
