I can clearly remember that a bad season for Manchester United was. Being second in the Premier League and not making the knockout stages of the Champions League. Alan Shearer once said in the 1990’s the team that wins the premier league will be one place above Manchester United. Old Trafford was a Fortress not many teams won there. Now United lose games all the time there. Older Manchester United supporters can remember United getting relegated to the old second division. 14th in the Premier League only 3 wins it could happen again. My dear late uncle said in the 1973/74 season that United could be relegated. His mates told him to stop talking rubbish. It happened and could happen again. Unless something is done.
