Nah sorry Warren you lost me there mate. It’s still a divisive insult to Australian citizens to have an aboriginal political activist welcome us to our own country. A welcome to country isn’t even being used as aboriginals intended. It has been weaponised by those whose goal is for the so called colony to fall. Therefore I turn my back on it as Pauline has called for. It’s a bloody disgrace these people happily hold their hand out for tax payer dollars they happily take advantage of all of the great things our ancestors have provided to our country while calling for the state to fall.

Australia Day is about celebrating our wonderful country. 26 January has been chosen as the date to do that and, for so long, the date suited everyone, just fine. Its a time to remember all of our achievements. A time to get together as family, friends and the community to enjoy a great day. In recent years, there has been too much debate about the political correctness of just about everything. You can't please everyone all the time, so let's go with the majority rules. As for Mt Kosciuszko, just leave it as it is. It has worldwide recognition, it doesn't need changing.

Like it or not, every country is a mix of indigenous and immigrant citizens. Virtually every country on earth has been subject to invasion and “colonisation” at some time in history. Smart civilisations adapt and accept the best that both worlds have to offer. Political Bigots have no place in meaningful ceremonies like “Welcome to Country”, spreading hatred and division. Warren Mundine - what a wonderful Ambassador for both Aboriginal people AND his immigrant forefathers. We need more people like him to bring ALL Australians together as a one, diverse people NOT a divided people.

We didn't have any such thing as these ceremonies years ago. We don't need them now. The people performing them seem to keep adding more drama, more costuming......more over the top! I don't believe the length of time they claim to have been here anyway. The first people, Adam and Eve , were only created about 6-7,000 years ago according to Bible family history facts. When they say multiple thousands of years, I wonder what they were meant to be DOING all those years? Not invent the wheel. Adam and Eve's sons , just one generation down , built cities .

Youre wrong, Warren. The welcome to country and other random modern Aboriginal inventions do need to he banned from public events. They are what's causing division. We're all Australians today, and having these random people, especially on nationally televised events, telling us we're welcome in our own homes... Thats offensive. Tge implication is that we need to have some stranger give us permission to be in our own homes, in our own towns. I don't need that bloke's permission at all. The only exception is if its a specifically Aboriginal event, where you're going in knowing that's what it is. Otherwise, why stop with just the aboriginal bit? Why not include a Christian coming to pray and give a little sermon before the football or at the kids school assembly? Why not? It would create division to leave out the Christians, wouldn't it?
