Order "Live At Knebworth '76": mercury-studio...
On August 21, 1976, Lynyrd Skynyrd took the stage at Knebworth as part of a daylong festival which also included Todd Rundgren’s Utopia, 10cc and The Rolling Stones. The show has gone down in Lynyrd Skynyrd history as one of the band’s greatest performances. The 1976 Knebworth show features Ronnie Van Zant’s iconic vocals and their famed triple guitar attack of Gary Rossington, Allen Collins and Steve Gaines in front of a crowd estimated between 150,000 and 200,000. Their entire performance from that day is here for you to witness the classic Lynyrd Skynyrd in all its glory with cleaned up visuals and remixed audio, available on DVD+CD, Blu-ray+CD and DVD+2LP.

@@DonnyHooterHoot Absolutely not. Both of the ZZ guitarists had real class, but Skynyrd had the greatest drummer. Dusty and Billy were excellent musicians. ZZ's live performances were lightning fast, and their early music was free of musical cliches. There was no competition when they were at their best, and ZZ was superior on the XXX tour in the late 1990s. Maybe Skynyrd is now superior to ZZ.

I seen Skynyrd 4 times. First time was when they backed up the Who's Quadrophenia tour in 73 I don't think many people even knew who Skynyrd was. IMO they blew the Who off the stage. I wish I'd got to see the Steve Gaines era :-) Peace

Steve used to play at a local tavern right across the st (HWY 66) from where I worked. So...(to make a long story short) I was only 9 yrs old. So...I met Steven Earl Gains when him and his buddy "John Moose Moss" would come into Browns cafe where I was washing dishes. Momma worked there as well, She introduced me to Steve...and the rest is history!

Yes, it's true but Ronnie was also scrutinizing every bandmates performance in every possible way and detail. if they failed in the slightest...that bandmate would get an earful from Ronnie after the show...FO SHOW! Ronnie was a perfectionist and even insisted they bow to the audience at the end of their performance. The politeness and extreme respect to the audience was not only a very old school homage but also a tribute to their parents' Southern upbringing. There was no just walking off the stage with a little wave at the end of the show...No Suh! They understood exactly what their fame brought to their lives and didn't take their fans or audience members for granted. Another reason, of many, to just love this band from my hometown of Jacksonville, Florida.

I will be the best thing to Lynyrd Skynyrd till the day I die they've always been one of the greatest rock bands that ever existed. Not the best because there's so many that are just as good then I don't agree when people try to say who is the best guitarist and all this stuff like that I think it's this song here for one of the guys is playing how to play a very famous guitar I can't remember the name of that now but I'm from the Upper Peninsula Michigan grew up on the south shore of Lake Superior where the Edmund Fitzgerald sank that was another great song I've said it before and I'll say it again it didn't matter if you're from the far north like me to Far West the East Coast or the Southern States like Lynyrd Skynyrd live singing about everybody I knew in party with couldn't get enough of them one of the greatest bands ever exist if anyone can think of the name of that guitar if you feel like it you might want to reply I seen Lynyrd Skynyrd after the crash three times one side the West Palm Beach Fairgrounds and twice at the at the SunFest Festival in Downtown West Palm Beach they weren't bad that's the last time I went to that that Festival saw Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top and George Thorogood I went to the very first song fast it was free and that was the last one I went through to see those three bands. It cost about 30 bucks then it was well worth it but they pretty much turned into a fenced-in area where the people were herded like cattle and all the drinks were way over price in the beginning it was just supposed to be for the local bands that could show their talent. I guess that was happens when money comes into the situation
