Sadly, that won't (exactly) work. Destroy the Dark Brotherhood! is the canon ending, iirc. :c It could always happen during the Aldmerian War (please?) and Shadowscales could be a faction against the Aldmeri? Maybe all your friends die, you end up the last Shadowscale and Veezara ends up being a descendants of Hero 6. That'd be sweet. Then again, Shadowscales PROBABLY still exsist even without the Dark Brotherhood, since they serve Argonian king, not JUST Sithis and his Bride.

@gothic3theageofwar5658 жыл бұрын
Ciann Mmmmmh this time I have to disagree, I think Skyrim db questline was absolutely awesome. The problem is that killing the Emperor Titus Mede II should have provoke something like a political disaster for the Empire. The quests are beautiful but I would have like so much to have some sort of continuation of that story. For example joining the Legion later and save the Empire. Oh well a beautiful dream that it's not possible because we would need to add all provinces of Tamriel. Maybe if Beyond Skyrim will ever be released we will be able to participate a bit more in cyrodiilic politics and eventually save the Empire from collapse
@vulcan2778 жыл бұрын
Frank -97 Yeh in a way I agree but as xNekoNekoo said I fell in love with the DB quest line of Oblivion. With lucien lachance and everyone thinking he is the traitor and basically destroying the guild killing everyone in it . The lucky old lady statue which was one of the Night Mothers crypts

Frank -97 I assumed they acted like nothing happened because at that point the empire was controlled by the high elves making the emperor just for show so if he dies they can afford to pretend nothing happened because all of the political power still sits with them

I actually wanna know more about the Morag Tong than the DB personally... like for example... why were they still around during the events of the Nerevarine Prophecy, they didn't exactly "seem" like they were hurting or anything... they seemed pretty well in control and to be perfectly honest they were more prominent in Vvardenfell than even the Camonna Tong... which is another huge question... who the hell are they and where did they come from? I know I've claimed in the past that I know a decent amount of lore about this series (I know probably 98%... maybe 99% of you this is the first time you're ever seeing me comment) but this is one road that I've always wondered about was the Morag Tong and Camonna Tong, the Dark Brotherhood's lore is honestly explained pretty thoroughly throughout the series (albeit there were some things on this video that I didn't actually know), I just wanna know more about the warring assassination factions in Morrowind more, especially since the fact that the Dark Brotherhood, quite clearly, was already established during the events of the Nerevarine Prophecy... which I'm honestly surprised I don't know more about them since they're like my favorite faction from Morrowind and Morrowind is actually my favorite of the series... actually my favorite game EVER lol.
@nowheremanofthehour8 жыл бұрын
As far as i know, Morag Tong was banished from all provinces of the empire. They had difficulties running their business on Tamriel during that period. To be an active and well-known organization again, Morag Tong recognized the religion of Tribunal Temple (Almsivi) on Morrowind which consists of the teachings by Vivec, Almalexia and Sotha Sil, former mortals who were close to Indoril Nerevar, the Chimer hero.They used the legendary dwemer architect Kagnerac's tools to gain divine power and became living gods despite Nerevar's last wish. Story of Tribunal, Dwemer, Dagoth and Nerevar is a long one. Anyways, after Morag Tong recognized The Tribunal as true gods, they were allowed by Vivec to run their assasination business in Vvardenfell district of Morrowind. Their assasinations are considered legal by the law and they used writs which shows that the assassin of the guild is on an offical business, so guards and ordinators let them be. That's why they are still around during Nerevar's rebirth. One of the reasons that Morag Tong and Dark Brotherhood became so hostile against eachother is that DB believes that Morag Tong commited blasphemy by accapting Tribunal as true gods. I mean, Morag Tong's main guild quarters are located at Vivec city which is the home of Tribunal god Vivec and the city has the most religious motives and buildings. They pactically seek protection from Tribunal. This is unaccaptable for DB. But i still prefer Morag Tong over DB due to my love for Dunmer(Chimer) lore. Origins of the guild is a mystery tho.
@TheGreatAngel8 жыл бұрын
nowheremanofthehour Yeah I knew a little bit about that but that last part is what I wanna know more about their origins and honestly... like EVERYTHING about the Camonna Tong...

I just don't have the time to explore all of the avenues and actually "study" that info... I did that once that's how I know so much about Anu and Padomay and the inception of everything so much but I just don't have the time to do that stuff anymore now that I'm an actual adult lol but I also wasn't saying that I "need" to know it just would be helpful info since it seems there's a lot that doesn't really explain much about these two clans

That doesn't stop more argonians from being born under said sign, the only reason they're considered "extinct" is because their facilities have been abandoned and they aren't trained anymore.
@Tony737278 жыл бұрын
How? There are no teachers from experience that can teach argonian children in the specific way of the Shadowscale, all that would be created are cut throat children of a different kind and only labelled "Shadowscale". They wouldn't be the same. Unless there's a Shadowscale training book within those facilities.

Sigh...an argonian born under the Shadow = Shadowscale. It's not a complicated formula, because of this the Shadowscales could be revived at any point just like every other faction believed dead in ES (Blades, Knights of the Nine etc.).

I'd imagine It's hard to make a video on Sithis, as the Dark Brotherhood say, Sithis is the Void. We also know Sithis is the birthed soul of Padomay and so represents change and that the Deadric realms of oblivion exist within/extend the void. Finally that Sithis played a part in all creation, that of both Aedra and Deadra but that is about all we know.

Many people think that Sithis is affiliated with daedra. thats incorrect. He has same relations with both daedra and aedra. he doesn see them as allies.His relations with Lorkan are those of subordinate and master. Sithis is Padomay. he isnt good nor bad, he is simply himself, or rather itself. He is also manifestation of mortality as mortality and birth as they bring change. He is also manifestation of evolution (what he did to argonians). Above all he is void and unexisting afterlife.

I like how he boldly claims that the shadowscales are extinct. We don't really know that for sure. If anything there might still be a few shadowscales in the Black Marsh protecting the Argonian King from any Dunmmer/Moragtong agents. Also the Moragtong is not extincted either because they show up in Solstiem. They(Dunmmer) Might want revenge for the invasion of their homeland by the Argonians which is funny because the Argonians were enslaved by the Dunmmer before the war for hundreds of years.
@Chepo2258 жыл бұрын
Btw sorry if I misspelled anything.
@garytaylor38808 жыл бұрын
Tomato Mayo I'm sure Vezara who is a Shadowscale himself would know if there are any others out there. Even if there are others if they worked for the Argonian King I believe he would know. He likely still has ties and connections in Black Marsh as well. So if there are any other Shadowscales they likely have not yet been discovered or it's unknown they are Shadowscale
@Dragunslayer838 жыл бұрын
Well, from what I understand, there's a novel called The Infernal City(an actual book, not an ingame book), that apparently has events in it that may have resulted in the decline of the shadowscales. What those events are, I'm not entirely certain but from what I've gathered, the current leaders in Black Marsh no longer supported the Shadowscales and thus the training facility in Archon was shut down.

Took this from lore on Mephala. She is known by the names Webspinner, Spinner, and Spider. Her sphere is lies, sex, murder, secrets and plots, and she enjoys seducing and interfering in mortal affairs for her own amusement. Plots dude.
@anprabh18 жыл бұрын
RavenRyy Boethiah is linked more to plots and conspiracies because Boethiah signifies unlawful overthrow of authority. Something like that can only happen through plots and conspiracies. This is also why Molag Bal hates Boethiah because Boethiah opposes domination.

Actually there was only one night mother. You mentioned "the last living night mother died", which is totally wrong according to the "The Night Mother truth", a book you can find at the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary in Skyrim. She was originally a dunmer assassin who eventually rose to the highest possible rank in the Morag Tong and was named "Night Mother". She was murdered and her sanctuary burned after killing her 5 children (who according to legend were sithis' children also) by the will of the Dread Lord and his prophecy - Sithis visited her in bed lock and told her the Void was starving for souls, and thus the dark prophecy began. Then after her death, like 20-50 years later she spoke to a man and ordered him to create the Dark Brotherhood as we know today.

The others are all very standard RPG questlines, and maybe the Dark Brotherhood ql is as well, but there's just something about it that makes it better.

If you haven't played Oblivion I would highly recommend it. If you can get past the shoddy gameplay and graphics, the plots are overall much better, especially the Dark Brotherhood. The DB in Skyrim was kind of.... unceremonious, badly-structured, and had Astrid in it, so.

I probably put about 2000 hours into various Oblivion saves. I disagree on all of those counts, except maybe the Astrid part. Badly-structured how?

The quests were structured fne (mostly), but in-game the Brotherhood had pretty much fallen apart. They no longer followed the Night Mother or the Tenants, and barely seemed to care for Sithis either. I suppose that doesn't bother some people, but personally as someone who's pretty invested in the Dark Brotherhood as an entity, I preferred the... widespread religious cult aspect of it, as well as the secretiveness and covertness in Oblivion. Skyrim didn't really have that. They were less the actual Brotherhood and more a group of random killers hiding out in a Sanctuary. There were no dead drops, not much killing in the honor of Sithis.... it was all about loyalty to Astrid, pretty much. Which, I suppose, was the entire point of the plot (to break away from that) but I didn't enjoy it and thought they really could have done something better with the Brotherhood overall. Mechanically, as well, I don't remember being as interested by most of the quests in Skyrim. In Oblivion they did a good job of making each quest relatively unique and memorable, each with its own requirements, unique targets and bonus methods, but in Skyrim.... it was pretty much "go here, kill this, come back, get paid." It was less about the kill and more about the paycheck, and that for me defeats the purpose of the Dark Brotherhood, for whom the money is really just a bonus. It's about the thrill of the hunt and the satisfaction of feeding another soul to the Void. This of course is all personal opinion, and if you disagree that's understandable. Wow, long ranty post. Sorry about that. I'm very passionate about TES, and the DB in particular.

I'll admit, I don't think there has every been a Dark Brotherhood quest as fun as the 'whodunnit' one in the house in Anvil(?). That was so fun, and I also recall one where you have to to strike someone with a special poison that makes them seem dead, only to go to the catacombs to revive them. However, I thought the storyline with the Gourmet was creative and fun, it was nice to see them take advantage of the grab mechanic (in hiding the body). But I agree I think a lot of the... coolness comes from them being a semi-religious, omniscient group. I remember the first time I got the 'Your killing has been observed by forces unknown.' message in Oblivion - chills! Equally, I think that the courier delivering a note that simple says 'We know.' with a black hand is pretty creepy. The concept of Sithis is one of my favourite pieces of lore. The Dread Father is omniscient, he is everywhere and yet is formless, and this is reflected in the Dark Brotherhood in TES:IV. You get the feeling that they _are_ everywhere. But I think you're right in saying that the plot was about restoring the Dark Brotherhood to the Five Tenets. I don't even think that it was a bad storyline, I just think it didn't have the things you like about the Brotherhood. Also, no Black Hand which was disappointing. Ha, that's okay, I responded in kind.

Roshank Redemption, could you please make a video on the Morag Tong. They're a rival assassin's guild from Morrowind that the dark brotherhood split off from and are now the sworn enemies of them

Woops. I wrote this comment before watching the video. You pretty much explained about the Morag Tong. Sorry. But still a stand a lone video on them would be cool.

The more I think about it the thugee sect could be an influence making the night mother a reference to the hand goddess Kali concubine of Shiva the destroyer aka sithis

In Oblivion, close to the end of the Dark Brotherhood quest-line, the Dark Brotherhood to a ritual to go into the tomb of the Night Mother, which is under the Lucy Old Lady statue. Soooooo... the Lucy Old Lady IS the Night Mother.

I have my own theory on Sithis. Sithis is hungry for souls and he summons wraiths (embodiments of souls) to directly do his bidding. Who else yearns for souls and commands them to do their bidding? The Ideal Masters. Sithis is the Ideal Masters. The Void is the Soul Cairn.

We shall add the sixth one to our tenets: "Never speak about the brotherhood in public. To do so is to invoke the Wrath of Sithis." And how the hell is that author just gave away passwords to our sanctuaries... Let's change at least wi-fi xd

Lorkhan's goal is to destroy the boring dream of Anu the Dreamer who created Padomay the Change and Anu the Stasis. Otherword, Lorkhan realized the existence of CHIM so he wants to get both CHIM and Amaranth to escape the endless loop of sadness of Anu's Dream or The Elder Scrolls universe.
