The story of Hrodulf and Bjornolfr is just so sad.... But this is why I love Skyrim - you can find these tragic stories anywhere (often even in unmarked locations) and they serve no purpose other than immersion. They truly make you feel like this world is alive and its inhabitants have their own lives and tragedies. They're not there just to help the protagonist.

The death of Meeko the Dog's Nord owner broke my heart....the way Meeko barks at the side of the road, and when you interact with him, he will lead you to a small hut not very far away, and then he will lay curled up beside the bed on which his owner's lifeless body lies! Next to the bed you will find a journal and it explains it, I kinda forgot the reason why he and many of his friends were out, with Meeko, but his friends got killed, and only he and Meeko escaped, and he also hopes someone would take care of Meeko after he dies! it's really heartbreaking!

Graenolf my boy have you ever heard of the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the wise? No?... I thought not. It's not a story the Jedi would tell you. It's a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life... He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. What happened him you may ask. He became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. It's ironic he could save others from death, but not himself.

Anything containing a "Romeo and Juliet" scenario is always a tragedy, and can be pretty sad. Also very overused. Almost there! :D

I know, while wandering Skyrim, around Markarth, I found a small encampment with two corpses, a Nord woman and a Dunmer man, as well as a live bear. Nearby, planted on a rock, was a statue of Mara. From what was littered along the campsite, my guess is that these two loved each other and tried to marry in secret, but were attacked by a bear, and, sadly, did not live.
@b.m2754 Жыл бұрын
Oh I've come across that one! I think the woman was a Breton lady named Karan. She and the Dunmer guy were in love but her dad wouldn't let her be with him because he was poor and an elf. So they ran away to be together. ...and didn't get very far unfortunately.

If you ever get a chance to play ESO there are actually quite a few LGBT themed quests. For example the khajiit that wants your help so he can impress his Boyfriend's Father, another being about a noble women torn between two people fighting over her one being a female orc servant who she's been friends with since childhood and another being a Breton general. In the end I convinced her to choose the orc woman because I felt that she cared about her more as a person and less as a trophy Wife.

After listening to number 3, I went straight Solenstein to try to give as much as a resolution to this story as possible. I wish we could transport bodies in and out of buildings and dig graves for the deceased or contact the Hall of the dead so they could be given a proper burial. As nothing of that is possible, I've put Bjorn's body at the base of the stairs while Hrodulf's body rests at top of the entrance to his house so they can be as close as possible. Also I've put the ring in Bjorn's body. It felt right to do so.

I have no idea whether this is a result of my overly modded game, but one time I was exploring the north-western coast, around Northwatch Keep, when I see a bright orange flash along the shoreline, through the trees. I immediately ready my sword and a spell, and rush towards it. About 20 meters away I hear "THERE COULD BE NO OTHER END..." Thankfully, I had found a tome for Banish Daedra a few levels earlier, but I was still too late. A young conjuration apprentice had tried to summon a Lesser Dremora, but hadn't learned the valued lesson that causes so many conjurers to meet their end; an Unbound Dremora will not obey your will, and seeks only to serve it's own. She had learned how to summon Dremora, but not how to bind them. Because of this, she sadly met her end.

Number three is pretty impressive as well as moving because it reminds us that Skyrim is a world where nobody cares about gender in regards to marriage or love due to a lack of religious prejudices which is really cool. The game not making a huge deal out of it is actually the best part because it helps create more of an attitude of normalization than the usual, "Look how progressive we are!!!" attitude when people generally do something pro-LGBT in a game or in life in general. Can't wait for consenting romance between members of the same gender as a non-issue either way in the real world, too.

Actually, it was always legal in all those empires until they fell to other empires where it was yet also legal. Rome fell because it was divided between the west and the east empires in an attempt to consolidate resources and power, not because of their "decadence" which long had been outlawed because of a man called Constantine. In fact, when Rome fell, they had been Christians for almost two centuries and homosexual sex was punishable by burning at the stake since that period, when Constantine had driven out the pagans and slaughtered all those who opposed his particular brand of the faith. Rome would then fall as a Christian shadow of the glory it once was to the recently converted Goths who punished it by burying alive and castration, depending on who was on top. Else wise, most cultures just like this game generally didn't give a shit who you loved in a consensual manner between people of a reasonable age until colonialism and imperialism driven by the ruthless efficiency of Christianity and Islam forced people to give up their cultures by fire and sword. Nowadays as a result, many cultures where people we now call "gay" or "trans" or other such things were at one time the medicine people and warrior-rulers are now reviled and slaughtered and the people take upon your mindset. Sorry, but it is you who are ignorant and in need of a history book.

I do remember coming across a small camp where a stupid bear attacks you (mindless creatures they are) and I killed it in short order, however when I investigated the camp it turned out the worthless pile of fur and claws managed to kill a couple who were there to meet and run off together. Now as is normal bears are stupid and weak but can be deadly to anything that can't fight back and indeed it murdered these two lovers for no reason then some animalistic bloodlust. Unfortunately for the bear he had ecoured the wrath of Maltheal (My evil character) so as punishment I turned him into an undead thrall forcing him to fight for me until something else managed to kill him...I do so love toying with creatures and bandits in this way.
@triplejsart64817 жыл бұрын
Awesome. I love hearing about everyone's different adventures in Skyrim (everyone has a different experience/adventure/ect). You sound like you'd be a great roleplayer as well. Maltheal seems like a fantastically evil, charming character to interact with.
@Jaeger_Bishop7 жыл бұрын
That was the idea behind his character. Maltheal is a master of magic and seeks to become the embodiment of death itself, in this way he will become judge, jury and executioner...if he is truly displeased with an individual he will ether enslave them as a thrall or trap them in a black soul gem to fuel his experiments. He seeks to rid the world of the weak and feeble-minded individuals who claim to be all powerful or righteous, he will one day rule tamriel including summerset isle and all will know. To think yourself blessed by the divines or protected by the dedric princes, is to invite the angel of death to add your soul to his collection. (Seriously I have so many black filled soul gems with this character it's ridiculous) He has his personal interests but keeps them known only to himself, though one thing is known is his insatiable apatite for arcane knowledge. Not to say he simply hates everyone as those who are strong of mind, body, spirit and a life full of deeds do perk his interest. However these individuals are few and far between, this has lead him to live a mostly reclusive life-style...granted being a vampire he has all the time in the world to meet such individuals during his many travels.

Actually, I love him! I think your character is absolutely perfect in a diabolical and down right malicious sort of way. I don't think he comes off as edgy. There is one more next to some pool near Markarth. There's a diary, apparently belonging to a young girl who wrote about her father warning her about the Forsworn and forbidding her to go out alone. But it is such a beautiful day, and she just can't resist a quick trip to her favorite pool for a relaxing bath. Her father need never know. Next to the diary, the girl's belongings are laid out neatly in a row on the edge of the pool. A dress, neatly folded, a pair of shoes a ring and a necklace. As if she had taken them off before wading into the pool. But apparently she never came back for them. They just lie there, undisturbed, until you chance to stumble upon them. There is no body, no skeleton, no blood spatter, no sign of foul play at all. What happened to her is unknown, but seeing as there is a Forsworn camp nearby, it probably isn't good. There are human bones in the camp, but no way to tell if they are hers.

One of those dead caravans that always got me sad was the one near Chillwind Depths, where you can find said caravan quite recently destroyed and a dead couple. There is an item named Merchant's Journal that apparently belonged to the wife and explains how she had bad feelings about this trip and that her husband refused to listen to her warnings. And so she decided to go with him, with the words "We live or die together. Mara preserve us." written on that journal of hers. Upon closer inspection, you can find a Falmer ear right next to her, which i'm not sure counts as a sort of calling card or as a way to explain that she tried to fight back. Either way, I remember the man being right next to the horse, indicating that he was hit by an arrow that made him fall off the cart, and the woman dead right behind the cart possibly not realizing what exactly was going on just yet.

There's another interesting one, I believe it's a couple who are out to travel to Whiterun to sell their whares, a small caravan if you will. They're found dead, pelted by what seems to be Falmer Arrows. Not too far away, is a cave infested with Falmer. If you take the time to read the woman's journal it's quite sad yet really cool how Bethesda took the time to create these mini stories in such a huge game.

Cleverly done! I'm glad to see others also come up with interesting stories for the things found in Skyrim. It makes a great experience even better in my opinion.

THIS is why I love Skyrim. The attention to detail and tons of immersive items/environments/events/people/etc. It's too bad that Bethesda stopped supporting it on PS3 after a few DLC's. It needed only 1-2 more patches and it probably would have been fine.

Good vid, another good mention is on the road South of Solitude you find a caravan ambushed by Falmer and the journal the wife wishing to stay for her husband on the road risking life then to be widowed.

Somewhere west/northwest of Winterhold, you can find a burnt corpse huddled into a ball, surrounded by burnt ground and small patches of fire. In front of this corpse, there's a spell tome for the flame cloak spell. Sad, how unexpected and sudden (and yet still how immensely painful) that death must have been.

The fallen Kajhit in the last story will sometimes glitch, and their tails will be stuck sticking straight up and swaying as if they were alive. First glitch I ever came across in this game!

I think the worst one I stumbled on was the little hut on the river leading from Ivarstead towards Windhelm, where after killing a bear, you find mangled, bloody bones, and in the drawers, the clothing of adults and children-- clearly the bears victims. Depressing indeed.

The weird bit about that last one, is that the opening cart ridge goes right through that spot. So, somehow, the khajiit caravan went past helgen without encountering the dragon, and the bandits were setup, without being spotted by all the soldiers transporting their prisoners.
