It was absolutely a blast (and a grind!) but I had so much fun. These were collectively the biggest streams we've ever had on Twitch! Unfortunately that means Twitch Chat is gaining power and the VOD channel will need to declare war soon to quell the rebellion. Have a great weekend. Hey Joov, if you want to spice up that Helgen carriage ride. The Opening Scene Overhaul mod is a great way to do it. Uses some unused assets to switch things up just a bit. Also perhaps a mod to integrate creation club weapons and armors into the world so characters actually use them, could be useful for some of your challenges.

@@DietJoov I highly support the CC integration mod idea. If you're looking for something more that doesnt make it a brand new game but makes the whole experience better (in regards to perks not being boring and combat being more interesting which I know is something you enjoy) Enairim (Ordinator + Smilodon/Wildcat plus others if wanted but not needed) is a slightly heavier conversion of perks and combat while still keeping vanilla feel, and Simonrim (Adamant + Blade&Blunt plus others optionally) is a lighter and even more vanilla-focused overhaul. Both of these perk and combat overhauls just make the game so much better without changing what skyrim is and how it feels to play; and their optional other companion mods touch on things like enchanting, race perks, magic casting, and so forth which can be added if you think they look interesting or ignored if not.

I'd love an even more hardcore playtrough. Like, frostfall + camping, Ineeds, Wounds, Wildcat, Diverse Dragons. I know it isn't for everyone, so you may not like these mods, but if you do, it'd be fire!

I’m so impressed that you let that ending dragon attack play out how you did…that was so inspired! Of course its the perfect ending to the story, and the fact you realized that while it was happening showed your skill to recognize storytelling. Joov, this challenge was fantastic! So much fun to watch, and it inspired me to start a Skyrim playthrough of my own using similar rules (all the same except no looting any enemies, and I can buy from vendors (but not sell), and I'm on Master difficulty). The ability to buy stuff is balanced by the fact that the only money I get is from chests and quest rewards, so I can never actually afford anything anyway. Anyway, here's my quick guide for smashing this challenge: 1. Halted Stream Camp + Embershard. 2. Transmute/smith, craft steel armor and get a bow. 3. Get smithing to 30 (should be there from HSC and Embershard. 4. Carriage to Markarth, talk to Calcelmo, offer to kill spider, he gives you key to Nchuand-Zel, gather all dwarven metal you can without having to fight spiders, you will have enough to make a full set of dwarven armor and sword + bow. 5. Go back and kill giant spider using your new gear, get key to Dwemer museum 6. Steal everything not bolted down, waddle to smelter, have 150+ dwarven metal ingots, 7. Spend time gathering more iron to combine with dwarven metal to make bows for xp. 8. You are now over 50 smithing, so help an orc, go to a stronghold, get orichalcum and make orcish armor. You now have orcish armor and dwarven weapons at under level 10. You are ready to smash this challenge, just don't get complacent, you will die.

I love how you completely ignored the fact that you had the Golden Claw in your inventory which you could return to Lucas for gold, while running around Riverwood. You even had a quest, which was on the first page whenever you went into the pause menu! Well, didn't matter, but it was disturbing, hahah

I am giving this one a try myself. So far at 45 smithing before leaving the whiterun area and not using magic. So One handed, Block, light armor, alchemy, smithing are the primary skills being used. Training block on mud crabs to get to a decent level in it.

here's a tip, if you're trying to catch an arrow, you can't do it by pressing e when you see the prompt, you have to hold e and RELEASE it when you see the prompt, because picking up works on release, not on press, so if the prompt is gone when you release, it won't do anything

Hey Joov, I just wanted to say it's been a pleasure watching your Skyrim challenge videos lately. It always puts a smile on my face whenever you discover a new trick or strategy you didn't know was possible in the game. For your consideration should you decide to push this challenge further, or to quickly get back on your feet should your character die from some random bullshit: --- Carry Weight: The Steed stone is the most efficient way to acquire a ton of carry weight: it increases your carry weight by 50 in survival mode and makes your equipped armor weight 0 (a full set of Iron armor weights 46, a full set of Nordic Carved armor weight 56), that stone alone would solve most of your carry weight problems. View it differently too: Improving your carry weight with the help of the Steed stone will allow you to invest more level ups improving your health rather than your stamina. And more health means less dying from the two-handed demons. --- Improving Alteration, Conjuration and acquiring soul trapping: A dungeon in the Rift, Treva's Watch, is home to a quest called Infiltration. The reward for completing this quest is a tome of Detect Life, the most efficient spell to level up Alteration, simply cast it in the middle of a crowded city, like Riften or Solitude at midday. While acquiring a tome of Soul Trap can be quite difficult with random loot only, there is a safer strategy: The Soul Stealer perk (in the Conjuration tree) makes your bound weapons cast Soul Trap. You can level up your conjuration skill with the following spells: Conjure Skeleton Minion (a tome can be found on an altar on a hill SW of Fort Greymoor) Conjure Undying Ghost (a tome can be found at the Ritual stone) Conjure Zombie (a tome can be found during The Rising Dead quest) Tomes of bound weapons can be found in the following locations: You can find a tome of Bound Sword (novice) inside Treva's Watch. You can find a tome of Bound Bow (adept) inside Fort Amol Prison. --- Useful disenchantable quest rewards: Muiri's Ring (reward in the DB quest Mourning Never Comes) can be disenchanted to acquire the Fortify Alchemy effect. No One Escapes Cidhna Mine is also a good source of disenchantable quest rewards. If you side with the forsworns and escape with them, you can acquire a full set of Armor of the Old Gods, a safe source for the following enchanting effects: Fortify Destruction Fortify Archery Fortify Magicka Fortify Sneaking If you side with Thonar Silver-Blood and kill Madanach, you can acquire a disenchantable ring with the Fortify Smithing effect, a useful effect in a Smithing centric playthrough. With some shenanigans you can also acquire both rewards. But I do not know how difficult this would be in Ironman mode and without save scumming. --- Camping supplies: While hauling around a crate of camping supplies would indeed be a waste of inventory space, you could save a lot of money simply by setting camp right outside the major cities, instead of sleeping at the inn. --- Crafting tips: SkyUI has a search bar at the top to help you quickly find the item you are looking for in the crafting menu. The most efficient way to turn various material into Smithing experience: With your Leather and Leather Strips, you want to craft Leather Scout Gauntlets. With your Iron Ingots, you want to craft Iron Arrows (not Iron Daggers). With Iron Ore, you transmute it into silver or gold to craft jewelry. When you run out of gems, you craft Gold Rings. With Corundum and Steel Ingots you want to craft Steel Plate Armor (with the Advanced Armors smithing perk) or Steel Soldier Armors (without the Advanced Armors perk). With Quicksilver Ingots you want to craft Nordic Maces (with the Advanced Armors smithing perk). With Dwarven Ingots you want to craft Dwarven Bows AND improve them at least once. (Remember to keep one ingot for each bow you craft in order to improve it later) Tempering low value armors and weapons is not a good source of smithing experience. However, items that have a high value can net you a ton of smithing experience (for a relatively low cost in crafting material) if you temper them while under the effect of various Fortify Smithing effects. Lastly, if you want to level up Smithing, it is always a worthwhile investment to unlock the Dwarven Smithing perk because Dwarven is the most commonly found crafting material in the whole game: 391 + 215 + 168 ingots if you loot and smelt every smeltable pieces of dwarven metal in Nchuand-Zel, the Dwemer Museum, and Calcelmo's Laboratory. (All located in Markarth) You can get 472 ingots if you loot and smelt the pieces found in in Mzulft and the Dwarven Storeroom outside. (Located in Eastmarch) You will however need to learn which pieces of Dwemer metal is smeltable and which ones are clutter or garbage; and which pieces have the highest ingots:weight ratio. (A rule of thumb is that if it starts with the word "Dwemer" it cannot be melted, not even Dwemer Scrap Metal; however Bent Dwemer Scrap Metal can be smelted. The Small Dwemer Lever is the only exception; its name doesn't start with Dwemer, but it still cannot be smelted.)

This series inspired me to make my own attempt at the challenge, with OBIS, Campfire, and a few QoL mods. I thought I was being smart luring some of the beefy bandits from the "Bandits dressed as imperial soldiers" encounter to the western watchtower. Then I accidentally hit a guard with some flames, and then I knew my attempt was over. Guards have zero chill.

I have a challenge idea. Heavy armor shield mage. You need to always have shield equiped and no weapon. You can only craft potions(if you loot the ingredients) and do enchanting. Everything else comes from loot only. You cannot buy anything nor craft any armor nor shield nor weapon or accessories. Your goal is to finish Winterhold mage college quest line and become the headmaster. It can be a perma death if you believe it's too easy.

good stream man, just an idea but these perma death runs offer so many hairy dice rolls. If you drop a save at a challenging bit to return to after you complete your stream/run objectives. would be cool to see if some of the fights you chose to avoid could have turned in your favor or not.
