With over 100Gb of mods installed and well over 2000 hours of my free time invested into customizing Skyrim, I can honestly say, it was one of the most interesting, enjoyable and technically significant experiences I've ever had in over 40 years of gaming. I love Skyrim, but it really is the pinnacle of “Play It”. Finishing the main story is really just another quest, and completing this game is absurd. Mods turn it from an okay game with a lot of content to an amazing customizable experience. Its crazy.
@bawhee223 жыл бұрын
This may not have been the case if they had put some more effort into the main quest. Morrowind and Oblivion both had main story lines that were much better executed in terms of writing. Not to mention that a large portion of the main quest was completely broken on release of Skyrim and wouldn't even trigger the script for advancement without doing some magical song and dance with saving and loading out of locations, whereby you got the progress but none of the dialogue from an npc that was just broken.
@frankcl13 жыл бұрын
To be fair, Skyrim should never be completed, at least not in one playthrough. It's already absurd being able to join the thieves guild while playing an honorable warrior, and vice versa.

Honestly, I can't think of a playthrough where I don't have the mod "Legacy of the Dragonborn". From Thief, to Assassin, to Mage and Warrior, there's something for everyone with that one mod and it's quite compatible with dozens of other mods including additional patches to make them so and vice versa. But although fun, it can be a full on Completionist Nightmare if you're trying to get EVERYTHING with LotD, even more so with the additional mod and Creation Club support. If I recall my last playthrough, I had like over 1000 displays, completed all the LotD quests minus the LotD guild quests, and I've YET to complete any of the original game questlines such as the main questline, the guilds, I became Thane of two or three holds but that was it. The amount of effort it would take to 100% this mod, especially with additional mods atop of it like VIGILANT, Konahrik's Accoutrements, Royal Armory, Fossil Mining, Artifacts of Skyrim, Oblivion Artifacts, Skyrim Sewers, Wyrmstooth, Tools of Kagrenak, Moon and Star, Undeath, Skyrim Sewers, and every single Creation Club Content and then some to boot! If there's one thing I would say bad about LotD, if you think you can 100% this mod with all the given mods it's compatible and patched with, you're going to be in for a really bad time. At the very least, you will be playing this game religiously to the point where even if you reach LV162 which I believe that's the highest level you can achieve with all of your skills becoming legendary once, you'll still not be done collecting everything.

To Charlie the editor: I would recommend the movie Contact. It's based off the book by Carl Sagan and it's one of my favorite movies ever, it's a great sci-fi movie! But Skyrim is an amazing game. I have near 1000 hours in it and my wife has over 6000 hours. The amount of customizability is enormous and keeps bringing me back to try a new playthrough that always just ends up as a stealth archer lol. Any type of gamer can pick up this game and enjoy it. quick note about the anniversary edition: it's fundamentally identical to special edition, just now with all of the creation club assets included (creation club was bethesda's shitty attempt to monetize mods, mod authors totally deserve to be compensated but the company coming in and taking a cut with microtransactions was yucky) but the only thing that should really break with the AE update is anything that relies on the script extender, and that should be updated relatively shortly after the AE release (within a few months, most likely, and there are ways to prevent your skyrim from updating and breaking things as well)

For my one of my best memories was using a mod that added warmth, thirst, and food to the game. I was freezing on the brink of death in the mountains and was desperately looking for shelter so I could make a fire and warm up. I finally found a cave, warmed up, and inside of it was a hidden side quests for a legendary sword that I ended up using as my main weapon for a big chunk of the game. the best mod i ever downloaded was "The Scarlet" a ship that basically was able to be just like your Dragonborn of Legend mod but now its mobile plus a nice place you can fast travel anytime

Man... I want to go back to Skyrim so bad now. I use to play the shit out of it up until 2018 and haven't got back since. I've been thinking of going back for a while now (I've seen three or four "newer" mods that would make for an awesome new playthrough) but I have other stuff to play first.

Mr. Editor, I enjoyed the new Dune movie. My son and I have also been binging cheesetastic movies from my childhood: Flash Gordon, Last Starfighter, Monster Squad, Lost Boys, etc.

So many recommendations for Dune! I think I'm gonna have to see it now. I love those cheesetastic movies lol, Lost Boys was one of the first horror movies I ever saw and it made me fall in love with that B-movie feel!

Before the video starts. If there is one Mod that Dragonrider here will LOVE. It's the Legacy of the Dragonborn, or the Dovakhin Museum as some call it. Basically, an in-game Completionist's display of Achievements.

This is going to be one of the greats I can feel it in my bones. The completionist playing modded Skyrim, this meme potential written all over it
@sixthdragoness3 жыл бұрын
my completionist rating personally is "Mod it!" As you've clearly seen the experience that unlocks. I love how Skyrim becomes something near unrecognizably different based on who's playing with what mods, my own is a much deeper magic focused adventure that bends the main quest into a personal story about a young orphaned argonian mage just trying to balance her own wants and needs with the destiny she's had thrust upon her as Dovahkiin and making a few close friends along the way. A very different experience to your pirate adventure with Zelda and Randy Savage, yet both are only really made possible through the base game of Skyrim.

The only trivial part of 100%ing a tes game is collecting unique equipment (equipment outside of daedric artifacts). It's common knowledge in the community that 100% entails completing the main questlines, daedric quests, and dlcs- possibly their side questlines too (like raven rock's & neloth's for dragonborn). For skyrim in particular i'd add all the quests to become thane (of each hold) too. Wont hear me argue the title tho lol

Yeah, when the game first came out, I played it on PS3. Then around 2017 or so, I decided to get the Special Edition on Steam (I had been wanting Legendary Edition for PC, but apparently it went out of print). Best decision I ever made.

To add to that , if you want to have a relativly easy way to install big packs. There is wabbajack a tool that lets you install modpacks (like the superb Ultimate Skyrim). Also wabbajack has some great Fallout 4 Modpacks :)

Relics of Hyrule (I see that's one of the ones you grabbed, it's the one that puts the Master Sword) is the best mod. Period.
