Bethesda thanking them by giving updates that broke most mods, while releasing Skyrim again, and without giving update for another Elder Scrolls game.
@Apoqsi
@Apoqsi Жыл бұрын
@@JWalters388 Mods for every game are broken by updates. The only mods broken are that of SKSE, which are beyond the scope of what Bethesda supports and can control. The way SKSE works fundamentally, as stated by the SKSE team themselves, can’t be worked around. Any form of update will break SKSE, as it is version dependent. There is nothing Bethesda can do about it. They’d have to integrate SKSE into the game directly and take full control of it - that isn’t possible, nor would it be good. Skyrim being released again as Special Edition was a very good thing, as it ported it to the 64-bit engine that is far more stable and can handle much heavier mod lists. Why have we not gotten any updates for The Elder Scrolls 6? This is how their marketing has always worked. We will begin hearing more after the release of Starfield, which is their primary focus. Todd Howard and Bethesda in general have directly thanked the modding community for supporting their games and keeping them active for over a decade. They release full blown official modding tools, which can only be said about a handful of titles in all of history. They constantly feature mods and mod authors on all of their social media channels. Bethesda literally has a weekly mod showcase article. Bethesda works directly with mod authors, including releasing standalone mods directly on Steam, Creation Club, giving AE early access to the SKSE team so they could prepare for the updated version of visual studio (that’s why they were able to even get a beta update out day one), and so on. Bethesda loves and supports the modding community.

Bethesda literally recruits talented modders to work for them and give them an actual job. Not to mention, not slapping modders with a "cease and desist" letter, is a much better form of "Thank You", that other companies like Nintendo and Take Two should learn.

Todd has great respect for the modding community, as he openly declared during the iconic interview by the great Lex Fridman. Some decisions which may hurt that same community are not taken lightly I can tell and are something Bethesda clearly can't move round. I feared things could have changed for Skyrim and even Fallout 4 during the past years but after listening Todd's words and the way he talked really gave me good vibes because I'm sure he was 100% sincere _{Lex is great because of that capability of making Todd talk with shields down enough!}_ and that mods will always be so highly considered by him and the guys at Bethesda. They know pretty well what this community gave to their games and to them, they know how much their games owe to modders and I find it relieving. There's no chance for me to get hired from them so I'm not talking in their favor waving my tail like Dogmeat would do... as a matter of fact... if Bethesda's games weren't a bag full of bugs... modders wouldn't probably neither exist... right? At the end of the day we all love the Elder Scrolls / Fallout series and that's what we really care or should really care about.

Riva TNT2 vs Morrowind old user/player/modder here :] For years I've been building my pc setups with Elder Scrolls in mind - for almost 3 years now I'm on Acer Nitro 5 gaming laptop with Skyrim LE on. The laptop travelled with me hundreds of miles and is still alive. I got it with Skyrim SE in mind and it can bear it. BUT after testing Skyrim AE and downgrading to SE and seeing what Bethesda is doing to the faithful TES fanbase: I'm going to wait for Skyblivion. Then I'm getting new PC, leaving Steam, going GOG and enjoying Skyrim SE. That's the plan, I have spoken. Thank you for your vid!

I always wanted to see mods which take the magic system to the, "next level", in regards to gameplay such as spells which actually act on the npc models to cause dynamic effects. i.e. flames: PUSHES BACK the target with a strong flow of aetherial energy unleashed as a geyser of flames. Has a 30% chance to ignite the target per second which prevents attacks while cuasing burning damage of 10 damage per second. With this system you could use offensive magic in a defense way by introducing force effects like pushing or ragdolling into the spells which allows the player to fight conventional weapons more effectively. Hell make the entirety of all magic characters like this and you would double the difficulty of the game. I would like to see an actual complete rework of the shouting system as well to make the dragonborn into the legendary force it was always intended to be. The ability to shout so hard that nearby characters are staggered and the FUS ROH DAH can shout down the gates of whiterun. No bullshit timers or damage restrictions. It should feel like the player it truly achieving grand levels of power when he learns a new word of power or expands his knowledge of the words. Deadric relics would be better if the weapons and items themselves had a pro/con relationship where the player would have to live with the consequences of their allegiance to a daedric entity such as Molag Bal's mace for instance. If you align with Molag Bal and take the mace you will be forced to equip it, he is the deadra of domination/rape/force/vampires afterall. Once the mace is accepted and forced onto the player your health will be slowly drained at a low percentage unless you kill with the mace to satisfy the mace's bloodlust which stops the drain until the mace becomes, "dry", again. Another example is Azura's star where the player can reuse the item for soul replenishment of enchanted items. I would introduce the feature of requiring the player to collect the souls of Dunmer and Khajiit for Azuras star to function as an unlimited use item. If the player waits too long to give the daedric princess her beloved children then she will create a portal and suck the player into her realm. This starts a miniature quest where she gives the player the ability to repent of their sin and to sacrifice their ability to dwell in the daylight without receiving damage similar to a vampire. Hint, it's because Azura makes the night 'holy' from dusk until dawn and her servants are harmed by the dawn to dusk light when disobedient. Another example, Mephala who gives the player a long blade as a benefit for serving her also includes a curse in which the player, no matter how high speech skills and perks are, is cursed with never being able to persuade or intimidate characters. The price of glorious power received from the web-spinner herself is to trap you desperately in the most difficult circumstances, which amuses her. The blade is powerful and power comes with a curse when you receive it from Mephala.

eesh @ENB with that edgy response. Clearly someone took the fun right out of modding and tried to make it into their profitable business instead of a passion project. I really hate when people start to do something and when people appreciate their work and look forward to see more of it the modder starts acting like you are beneath them and that your lack of financial support is somehow your fault for the modder not monetizing the mods from the get go.

I wonder... does anybody care making a survey to see how many gamers can afford an RTX and are actually still using a GTX 1070, just like myself, or a GTX 1080. I definitely won't buy a new laptop or switch back to desktop for a game... I wish I could but ain't something I'm gonna consider for a year or two. I know this is a long time hardcore question about gaming today and what the industry is feeding us when it comes to hardware/software specs assuming everybody is "rich" enough to put hands on RTX _empty-pockets-making_ video cards. Besides, speaking of Skyrim and, most importantly, Fallout 4 where my use of ENB is massive and game-changer _{I turned the Wasteland a fully wintered watercolour work of animated art in 3840x2160px 4K thanks to my personal version of Painterly ENB and if I could put a picture of it right here you would be blown away by such a beauty!}_ ... if the new direction in mods is to make ENB users' lives a nightmare why should I care? Luckily I've got a couple of old versions of Skyrim and FO4 saved somewhere so rolling back shouldn't be much of an issue. Anyway, if any mod that helps to optimize and speed up performances _{my ENB Painterly is quite heavy on performance, with FPS dropping massively but I personally don't care... screenshots come even better when that happens!}_ will be released or improved I'll definitely be happier. I'm developing my own first solo-made indie game in Unreal Engine 5 and that keeps me quite busy but having a chance to run Skyrim and into Fallout 4 from time to time, effortlessly, is still something I like enjoying as much as always. Great video by the way, this channel is a nice discovery.

When it comes to SkyOblivion i think they should give it 2 years rather then 2025, cause of the fact that i would rather them make some masterful crafted work and more test then be given a horrible back lash from the community who cares more of rushing things rather then being more paitent, Its better to have a blade that is the greatest under the sun then a blade that will be replaced under the sun, But other then that. Modding for Skyrim and Mods in General for gaming has come so far it is absolute insanity, And i love it.

This is mostly untrue and even Todd Howard & Bethesda disagree. That said, what you’re saying has SOME truth to it. Skyrim has a popular modding scene because it’s Skyrim, not just because mod tools exist. That said, it wouldn’t be anywhere near as popular as it is over a decade later without mods. There is a reason Bethesda supports mods as much as they do - and it’s not just out of the goodness of their hearts. Mods make the game infinitely more popular as it is essentially never ending content and fixes being added to the game.
