I have been torn between this mod and JK's Skyrim. I love retaining the vanilla feel in my game but just enhanced a touch, both mods certainly do that to varying degrees. Great Cities really does make the towns and cities more grandiose than their vanilla versions. I love the concept behind it and how they evolve the main characteristics of the city/town rather than overhaul them (E.g. Turning Dragon Bridge into a fort or the Falkreath graveyard expansion). However a lot of it feels superfluous and empty, Solitude was especially disappointing. Interiors were pretty bland and there's not much to interact with in general. JK's Skyrim, on the other hand lacks the splendour of GC's and the additional stuff added to cities is about 50% clutter. What it does do though is fill previously barren space, add a few extra buildings and adds NPC's that feel like they belong in Skyrim. My favourite addition is the Northern Star general store in Dawnstar, a city that was desperately lacking in trade despite it supposedly being a major port. JK's Skyrim blends more naturally with the original Skyrim experience but Great Cities is more of a spectacle. It's a tough call.

I use this mod collection on my game, it definitely adds more to the feel of the game, making each city feel a little more unique and important. My only complaint is with Dawnstar, while the added docks are wonderful the rest of the town feels a bit too cluttered and cramped with the extra walls. But all in all nice improvements overall to the rest of the cities. For a little more immersion I highly suggest the Granite Hill mod tgat adds a town to the crossroads in Falkreath territory, theres even a cool little dungeon adventure too. Granite Hill was originally going to be put in the game, the jarl of Falkreath even mentions it in his dialog, but the developers never made it. This mod adds it in and it feels very natural to the game. That along with Aurora finally gives Falkreath hold some actual inhabitants, as the population for the entire hold in the vanilla game literally consisted of just Falkreath and a lumber mill.

@@IBBMS most of the time it doesn't have any affect. Every once in a while it'll drag just a bit but no more than when I go to Solitude or Whiterun.
