If you select a Wood Elf (Which is what Faendal is) at the start of the game, The description clearly says that Wood Elves are the finest archers in all of Tamriel. So if we assume that Fondle has years, maybe even decades of experience under his belt, it’s hard to think that an elf who has a reputation of being among the greatest archers in Tamriel would just “accidentally” kill somebody. In his defense though, DougDoug was right in front of Arwen, so hitting him would require some extremely difficult shot, something like sending an arrow right under his armpit or something like that. But, Arwen was turning hostile, and with how fragile DougDoug was, Arwen could kill him with as little as a light tap on the shoulder. To save him, he had to act quickly and under a lot of pressure. He attempted an impossible shot, because it still gave DougDoug better odds of survival than the alternative where he gets into a fist fight. So no murder, nor recklessness. I rest my case too.

i have come to a new conclusion. doug doug had jokingly metioned that faendal was blind as he couldnt see an enemy currently attacking him but, what if that was just it? possibly, faendal has severe or total blindness in both eyes. this conclusion solves a few problems such as why he wouldnt notice sneaky attackers behind him, especially during the swinging axe trap hallway. he likely has above average hearing, though, as seen when shooting the attackers outside the temple. this doesnt really need to apply when fighting the final spider boss as a bigger target is easier to hit. and so the killing of doug doug was likely just an accident. maybe because he heard fighting, in instinct he (not in recklessness may i add) shot his bow directly towards the commotion, killing whatever it was infront of him. to faendal surprise, though, he had killed his own companion. his intent was not to harm his companion, let alone kill him, and so his case can be valid. here, i rest my case. his conviction was completely false and the case was obviously rigged.

I've never had this many issues with Fondle he's actually been my pack mule up to level 40. 2 things to note: He is a justice boy so he won't pick up stolen stuff or steal and if you kill someone innocent he will be hostile (which includes this thief for some reason). He is an archery instructor up to 50 so you can pay him take your money back and repeat. Awesome vid btw 😁

People generally say Faendal is better since he’s the archery trainer, so you can pay him and then get your money back immediately, however if you’re wanting to be a thief, Sven is a better starting companion since he has lower morality and will happily help you steal things.
