I think folks should never forget Fallon Sherrock when it comes to the meteroic rise in popularity of darts. She broke the internet the other year and now, after everyone has had a little taste, luke comes along and really got the whole country into the sport.

This tournament had everything and it really highlighted how great darts can be Luke Humphries came in as favourite, snapped a dart before his match against Ricardo and barely scraped through. Then he somehow dug deep and beat Joe Cullen in sudden death and went on to win the whole tournament Luke Littler - enough said Former champions dropping out in the earlier stages, highlighting how genuinely competitive darts is and that no matter your ranking it’s all about performance on the night Scott Williams making his way through to a semi final and beating 3 top 10 ranked players on the way Cameron Menzies was in the tournament before his match was plumbing - in what other televised professional sport would you see that?! The PDC and Sky have done an amazing job at promoting darts and giving a platform to the sport - it’s come a long way in the last few years and now people are going to be more interested, which brings more sponsorships, which will then give more players a chance to make a living out of darts. With the ability to make a living from it, that will only grow the quality of the players and the sport in general The accessibility of darts means anyone who fancies having a go can - it’s not an elitist sport you have to have been doing since you were a 6 year old to get in to, or a sport where you have to pump £1,000s in to, to be able to have a casual game. Once you do have a go you realise how truly talented the players are making the game look so easy when in reality, to be elite it’s incredibly difficult The biggest part of it though is how real the players are. They’re just normal people with incredible talents who speak their mind and in the nicest way possible, just look like normal people you’d walk by in the street That’s what I think has captured the imagination of everyone Bring on the next tournaments!!!

The thing is he never got there scraping threw. He blew them away, his scoring power , and ton plus 3 dart finishes are on phil taylors level. He may not make a world final for a while but he has the game to dominate the circuit. And he knows how good he is. If he breaks the throw 6-4 down he had thrown9 darts and was on 300 odds his worst leg of tournement and it cost him. Epic final tho madness it keeps getting better year after year

Everything that comes with the premier League makes the schedule a bit of a gruelling task. Especially for a 16 year old. He's going to be under way more pressure and have to deal with the papers a lot more (already had a run on with the sun)

It’s a poor reflection on the sport that there willing to throw littler in there. Gary Anderson was right to tell them to leave him alone and let him play. Why will it benefit a 16-17 year old? He has plenty of time and the only person it will benefit is the PDC this could very well ruin him. Plus I think it’s undeserved. Just my opinion

I have been watching darts since the 80s. And in all my time I have never seen anyone fluke their way to a championship than Luke the fluke humphries.
