Love me some dubbed Zelda when its done like this. Wish Nintendo would consider it in official Zelda's. In fact I got a solution for purists, have a mute speech option. On but Link is fine as a mute either way imo.
@komarunaegi74609 жыл бұрын
CJSaikoro7493 After the backlash they got from the voice acting in Super Mario Sunshine, Nintendo seems to have taken an oath to only do voice acting in reactions, gibberishm and short, stock lines (i.e. Skyward Sword, Super Mario Galaxy, and Fire Emblem: Awakening). Kid Icarus: Uprising is an exception because it isn't anywhere near as well-known and home-hitting as Mario or Zelda games (so they had more leeway to add a ton of different, creative touches), but even then, it only provides the option to mute the voice acting until after you beat the game. And even then, the voices were a love-it-or-hate-it consensus between fans. Since the majority of Nintendo gamers prefer less voice acting over having everything spoken, that's what they've stuck with. Besides, characters like Mario, Link, and Red/protagonist Pokémon Trainer are silent because they're meant to be links for the player to better immerse themselves in. So it might take away from some of their charm if they were given voices.
@CJSai649 жыл бұрын
***** Was only talking about Zelda, a more cinematic series. Pokemon remaining text-based makes sense, and I honestly don't want dialogue in a traditional Mario game. I think they should consider it at least once as an experiment and leave a mute dialogue option for purists. If they never try, they won't know for sure if they don't need it. Heck, they seem to toy with the idea with Midna and Fi, even if it's gibberish.
@komarunaegi74609 жыл бұрын
CJSaikoro7493 I know, but I'm sure the backlash from Super Mario Sunshine must have spread caution to all other franchises as well. Like I said, Nintendo games like to use voice actors for reactions, gibberish, and stock voice clips as a nice in-between for those who want voice acting in certain games and those who don't want it. Hence the games I mentioned that do just that. I'd be down for them to try making a game with full-on voice acting for a Zelda game, whether it gives a mute option or now, but I can see the risks in doing so.
@CJSai649 жыл бұрын
***** The mute options removes the risk entirely. By the way I get what you mean. If you wanted a closer example, the CDi Zelda games works too lol.
@komarunaegi74609 жыл бұрын
CJSai#64 By risk, I just mean cost purposes. VAs, let alone good ones, cost a lot to have on. So for Nintendo to spend a lot more to have VAs on a lot more than usual, it'll be a risk financially. Especially if it doesn't do well. That's why Smash 4 just has one set Palutena's Guidance conversation for every DLC character, rather than giving each one their own conversation between Palutena, Viridi, and Pit. Since Zelda U is advertised to supposedly be open-world and everyone's freaking out comparing it to Skyrim, it'll be a nice point to start hiring VAs for it.
