Update (March 19, 2012): I have compiled a list of the Skyloft civilians' names and their name origins --- there might be a few inaccuracies. I only interpreted the Japanese names in the game because the names were much more consistent than in the English version of the game. The file is a PDF. Link is below. But it slowly shows that he actually does care about Zelda a lot and eventually stops comparing himself to link and actually helps in a way that he's good at. Now, if only more bullies could have a redemption arc like groose.

He's a doofus. Not an idiot. There's a big and important distinction that makes him so lovable. Especially when he decides to dedicate himself to defending the sealed temple. I do like how this scene shows Groose to not _just_ be, you know, the stock jock bully character. Link reassuringly smiling and patting Groose's arm before explaining everything shows that they are after all class mates, with their "rivalry" being mostly one-sided. And Groose being emotionally relieved to know that Zelda is okay shows that he does appear to have genuine feelings for her.

I think that since we're all big kids now, Legend of Zelda doesn't need voice actors to say every word in the text. I, personally, find screams emphasize how the character is feeling, rather than have them be mute and "look" like they're screaming. to be honest the animations in this game were really smothe! and the character movement was really realistic, especialy zelda playing the harp! and the frame rate is superb. sure these graphics are out dated, but for the wii, this games animations are prety good!

Yeah I just came back here to compare cutscene quality to the HD version. The HD cutscenes have better framerate, but it gives everything a smooth look that's cursed when put over the original animations, and I don't like them.
