Regardless of whether you’re a steam game or an EGS gamer, one thing we can all agree: don’t buy kingdom hearts on switch.

@@KRJayster Im not sure if they will ever report kingdom hearts on switch I can understand for 3 but 1.5 and 2.5 should have been native from the start

I only got it because I don't have anything else to play it on... I didn't have many issues gameplaywise other than certain moments in kh3 but going afk for a few minutes and getting disconnected certainly was not fun

I love my steam deck because it's convenience. Having all the KH games on it has made my downtime so much fun. It's one of my favorite games and having it on the go makes me feel like a kiddo again.

I've seen many comments about how it's not stable and 9/10 times it's because they unlocked the framerate. These games were made 10+ years ago. Keep them at their intended frame rates

Bought in EGS because I assumed it was never gonna come to steam, regret it and I’m still going to buy it on steam so therefore I have zero reason to touch the EGS anymore thank god.

Several months ago I attempted to download EGS just to buy KH and it just refused to despite having correct specs and plenty of storage space. Luckily shortly after KH was announced for steam

The question is: how stable the Steam version is compared to the EGS? I bought the EGS version of 1.5 + 2.5, and dropped it after the game crashed twice out of nowhere.

With VSync on, KH crashes on Steamdeck for some reason. Just turn it off in the settings and the game works fine.

@@kalythaiit didn't crash on my steam deck with vsync on but I noticed that vsync caused the fps to stutter occasionally.

For me I crashed 2 at first but never again I think it was first couple weeks and hasn't happened again.

I’ve had the Epic Games Store since GTA V was free and I haven’t been noticing anything of the like happening. One thing though: I’ve been using a PS4 controller connected via cable and whenever I shake the controller a little bit the whole game lags and the music precedes the gameplay or the cutscene until there’s a transition that fixes it. I don’t know if that’s also on the Steam version but I got the 3 KH bundles when it had a pretty hefty sale.

I've read that pirates had a lot of problems with EGS's version of KH. EGS's version pings the servers and if it couldn't connect, it plain shuts down the game.

@@kalythai I know from a friend of course, that the final mix collections and kh3 have been available to download and play for free for a while so it clearly didnt work that well

I've had less problems with a pirated copy of KH PC compared to a legal copy on Epic Games Store version

I've used cracked exes since they came put a month or so (if even that long after launch), and they work perfectly fine offline with a crack.

They did find a crack to bypass that and I haven't had any issues playing the games without internet. It's really dumb though that epic games does that because for games like fortnite that need internet to be played it's not bad but for everything else it kinda sucks, especially when they want to be part of the biggest digital game stores

Only issue ive had with the steam one is neither my Wired xbox controller or Wireless switch pro controller will detect the up and left inputs on the right stick. Ive been trying to fix it for 3 weeks and nothing. Its okay on KBM though, the scroll wheel is a bit sensitive

As previously mentioned in this comments section and video. EGS is very bad in terms power consumption and other issues, honestly your best bet is steam, the game will be avaliable offline and usually downloads faster, also, just dont play on switch, it runs at about 5fps and is nearly unplayabe

I got it on Steam and honestly had no notable issues. I was hoping to play the 358 days game cause my friend says that's the best one and I'd like this Xion girl but I really don't wanna just watch a movie xP not atm at least.

If you have the steam deck, I just finished it on melonds and never had any framerate or control issues.

Epic game store Runs on unreal engine...... Yes thats correct, it tells you that when it crashes... Thats why it makes games run slower..... Steam meanwhile is just a library and it's site is coded as literally as it appears to be, hence why it works both offline and doesn't require much to run it

I found out that kingdom hearts was on EGs about 5 months ago and then heard it was coming to steam right after that. Couldnt believe one of my favorite game franchises wwre finally coming to pc

I kid you not, I complettely forgot that the KH games were released on Epic and kept complaining "WHY IS THERE NO KINGDOM HEARTS ON PC?!??!" And after the KH games were released on Steam I (re-)discovered that the KH games were already on Epic which I complettely forgot about but I dont use Epic at all 😂

I played wolfenstein new order through EGs and it was great. I'm planning to play GTA V next. My old problem is when my xbox controller started drifting, I swapped to my ps4 controller and for some reason fortnite doesn't detect it wirelessly. I needed a separate program to trick it.

As a linux gamer who likes kingdom hearts... hearing the port was buggy since egs requires so much to make run on linux- and generally made stuff like border lands cancel their linux ports- im team steam when it becomes less buggy. Waited over 3 years to stream modded kh2 and even play it- can wait longer... i just wanna play the randomised keyblade mod! Voidgear in kh2? Random stats + randomised worlds? Yes! Thatd be a fun stream!

The main thing for me was that your saves didn't carry over between pc and ROG ally. I didn't even know about the online only thing. Luckily, I bought it right when the steam version was announced, so I was still able to get a refund.

Can’t you play offline if you manually switch it? I’m pretty sure there is a setting that lets you play your games in offline mode. I was able to play pillars of eternity on my laptop and it was not connected to the internet.

I’m a steam gamer since it’s creating, and also use epic games. I have never had these issues with epic games, just upgrade your computer or buy one that’s not shit 🤷‍♂️ and that’s said from someone who doesn’t know shit about computers, and always buys laptops with the “current specs” 😂 never had an issue. Also I’ve played kh3 without internet with no issue so idk what y’all doing wrong, or whatever I’m doing right lol

Honestly i can sum it up Epic: all mods work but cant play offline. Which mods can fix at least for bbs Steam: can play offline but a lot of mods don't work Conclusion. Epic is better. Mods make kh so much better. Especially the hd textures one. Looks way better then the ai upscales garbage. And most times out of 10 you will alway have an Internet connection. Its also such a scam 1.5+2.5 for price on steam. A ps3 game. Is 40 quid. Personally I haven't encountered missing saves or epic bloating my pc ot making it sluggish but i got a pretty good pc so idk

EGS isn't the worst for performance. (You can also by past it with OpenKH mods) I been playing since launch and the update really helped with AMD GPU's. I never lost saves even playing around with mods. Offline thing is true and really freaking sucks. EGS still has the best deals for KH. I bought KH3 for $12 and seen sales that make other games even cheaper sometimes.

EGS just doesn't compete against Steam the right way. Instead of making a good launcher for users, they uses their Fortnite money to get Exclusivity instead. Not a single PC gamer like that...

EPG is also just an inferior storefront and platform, who rely more on paid exclusives than actually updating and modernizing their stuff. Steam is by far the better platform.
