As a resident of Slab City, CA in 2021, it is not the folksy way it is in here, more of a Wild West/Original Frontier of North America. Stake your claim, respect your neighbors or slab justice will make you respect your neighbors. Be a good person, mind your own business and set your boundaries; you will be fine.
