Bringing the clamps to the workbench to clamp them to the workbench with other clamps is nice. Much better than using clamps to clamp the clamps to the workbench at the workbench.

Appreciate how simple yet effective the flattening jig is. That is so crazy that the piece of wood was just waiting for you. My guess is the prior owner always had great plans for it but either lacked time or skill to make it happen. Great job!!

That is beautiful work 👍. Not sold on the stability of the base! Looks like a very small radius in comparison to the weight of the top, might be a bit tippy.

Was there metal in the wood? It didn't look like the blade had gotten to the fence yet.

No metal in the wood, I hit the metal sled that I was pushing

@@WoodByToth Oh.... Didn't realize the sled itself was metal. Hope that didn't set you back too long. The table turned out amazing, can't believe you just found that piece in your new backyard.

If you're going to flatten this way, paint one of the boards a dark color. Then you can sight down the length and verify that both top surfaces are parallel. See "winding sticks." Also, use a plunge router, so you can do multiple passes. It is easier on the bit, but does take longer.

Kansas City, big change from Temecula. Did you get a bigger shop in the deal? We have a Goldendoodle (Brodee) who is a nonstop fetch machine. He would only stop to (maaaybe eat) and poop if we played with him continually.
