It’s a pretty sad and sorry story that Noddy and Jim Lea got the vast amount of money Slade ever made. It’s all down to songwriting eh. Jim and Nod wrote most of their music so got, and still get the royalties. They must love Christmas more than the rest of us eh? About £600k every year for Merry Christmas in royalties. Don Powell and Dave have had to keep working for twenty years as Slade just to make a living. Shame on Noddy and Jim ( both multi millionaires)for not assisting their two former band mates. Rock on Dave👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Slade were amazing and one of the most exciting bands I’ve seen! They made great songs which sometimes people forget their catalogue! Met Dave in the Cotswolds, had a go on the guitar he was playing - great down to earth man!

Dave your a legend,i grew up with Slade,i still have my signed album,Old New Borrowed and Blue from back in the day,i remember when Slade were on TOTP,early 70s,my Grandad had a fit,said they looked like four yobs on their way to the dole office,but Slade were the most incredible band to rock the pop world.Dave keep rocking,if Cliff can do it at 83,you can do it just as good.

Is it true that it's just noddy and him that get the royalties from merry Christmas.
@angusbabb49139 ай бұрын
No it’s just Noddy and and Jim and Jim Lea who receive royalties from Merry Xmas Everybody as they wrote the song …however Dave and Don should still be receiving their percentage in sales,/downloads / streams from their original record deal so he should still be getting something every year, just nowhere near as much as the writers
