Welcome to the Jungle - 10:04 - Sounds so good! Loved it! :) The whole package really did sound just like Slash! Very nice! So Slash went to Marshall and got his amp tweaked to a specific tone that all of their other amps did not have all those years ago. They probably made a deal to only make that set amount, because Slash did not want many people sounding just like him. lol

8:53 - here I am Capt. Slash used #36 mod by Frank Levi based on a Marshall 1977 (SL/A07422J) model 1959th which basically stands for Marshall 1959th Super Lead Plexi. The JCM800 (2203) which Capt is talking about was used as a #34 mod in recording of "Use Your Illusion" album (alongside with 2 different amps [I believe it was a Silver Jubilee and #36 mod used on AFD]).

How does the Epi Rosso Corsa's (or Vermillion's) sound and build quality compare to the Gibson version. I tried to see if you guys did a comparison video of both, but maybe I'm not finding it. I'd love to hear your input. I wonder if a new Gibson/Epi Slash guitar will be released soon since its been a few years since the last version. Part of me would love a Rosso Corsa or Vermillion, but I'm worried something even more kick ass will be released soon after my purchase . . . and while this is a great guitar, I'd be uber super pissed if I missed a new awesome feature. Also, I'd like to make a video request! Can you do a video that talks about the value of Les Pauls (both Gibson and Epi)? When you buy a Les Paul, it's like making an investment with the hope that it'll gain in value someday (not that I'd sell, but maybe the lucky inheritor would be insane enough to after I'm playing Stairway IN Heaven!). I'm curious if it makes sense to buy popular or unique colors and/or other features. I also know people change the action height, swap pickups and other hardware, etc., and I'd like to know how these choices may or may not affect value too. It's worth shit if you can't play the damn thing, but I'd hate to buy one and do some optional revision to it that I'll regret in the future. Since you guys clearly know your shit when it comes to Les Pauls, I'd love to see a vid on this subject! Thanks!!
@JohnSmith-tb1jp8 жыл бұрын
the gibson is probably a better finish on the body a more matte finish as the epiphone's is a similar finish to a glossy cheaper guitar as it is of course but they both use the slash seymour duncan alnico 2 pickups ii think definantly seymour duncan slash signatures so they will have a similar sound maybe evern the same though but overall id say the gibson looks better of course with the headstock snd that but the epiphone is the closest and near quality to a gibson your gonna get as they gibson own epiphone now and have done for some time but hey most les pauls are lacking quality now as the lower more affordable ranges are built cheaper with cheaper labour meaning quality wise it isn't as good but the slash model will defiantly be made in america nashville explains why it is like £3000 new but the epi i dont know where that is bulit maybe china but the epi is still a good guitar anyways

i'll correct you Capt! The AFD is based on a hot rodded non master vol 1959T from the early 70's, I believe the tremolo circuit was taken out and an extra gain stage put in its place. The #34 mode is based on a modded JCM800 he had in the late 80's early 90's. It has 6550 (which are unusual in the UK) as Marshall used to ship the amps without valves and the local distributors put the valves in.

Incredible. Alson ran her thru my Line 6 DT-50 via my Line 6 HD 500...the guitar was a beast. Then about 4 weeks ago I opened my case to practice and to my absolute horror there was an indent from mech pickup by the middle screw going horizontally up the body as well as to the edge of the fretboard to 18th fret. I blew a gasket in my brain and was like OH NOOOOO how could this be. So I sent her back to Gibson after bringing her to my friend who is a Gibson certified Luthier and before I took her
