Slate Digital FG-401 vs FG-Stress on Kick & Snare

My two favourite comps when it comes to drum shells but does it even matter if you gain stage?
3-5 dB of gain reduction using slowest attack and almost fastest release on both. I am using automation to bypass the compressors so check the screen to know which one is on.
