Inportant ! Anytime the Model of the mic in the VST at first, than you have that wat s. Slate has greate with the vms ml1.

I've been watching videos between this and UA Townsend Labs Sphere L22. Still figuring out which is worth it the most even though on is more expensive than the other. ML-1 sounds great through!!

I actually have both! I would say the ML1 is the best bang for your buck. The L22 sounds great, but a UAD Apollo Twin and above isn't "needed" but it really is..

For Loud fast deep voices the ml1 is not good. For normal pitch vocals its a very crispy mic very detailed and much accurate.

Sorry for the wait, but hope it was worth it! I used a Focusrite 2i2. No Slate preamp. You don't have to purchase it if you don't want to.

Hey, is the all-access subscription required with the VMS-1 Modeling Mic?

No, I have the mic and I have the all access too, but its not required. As you get 2 preamps and a selection of mic emulations. But you need an ilok 2 or 3 which is extra money. You maybe able to use the ilok cloud but I am not sure

Does it still come with that black box to control the gain. Or did they eliminate that box?

It doesn't come with the preamp, just the microphone itself. It's not needed in my opinion. I used a Focusrite 2i2 and this mic to record the track in the video.

Yup, it does! I made this video before they switched over to the cloud. Super happy it works without the iLok now 🔥🙏

Both are great Mics, but I would say this one is in fact better, but not because of the quality in sound..It's the software you get with it that makes this a beast microphone!
